I always get confused where raisins/currants/sultanas are concerned......and my DH has yet to convince me that glace cherries are 'real'

I agree... although the natural coloured ones are more convincing.;) I just use raisins for everything and don't think I've ever bought currants or sultanas.0 -
Thriftlady that sounds really nice but both dh and I are teetotal so could it be done with something else and not alcohol
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
I am one of the English sexy Shelias
I'm also a hussy0 -
Just a thought - how about some hot blackcurrant juice? Or a fruit flavoured tea?0

May we have the recipe please
BTW, currants really come into their own in Welsh cakes - can't imagine them with anything else

I don't mind currants in a bun or something, but black currants are of the devil. I don't know many Americans who can stand them. Rather, we're all really put off by the way black currant flavour is used in place of grapes - for example, in boiled sweets or skittles or whatever. Bleh! And, no way is Ribena going to be as nice as Welch's Grape Soda!:beer:0

Mrs Mix, I think Olliebeak's tea idea would work well
Pen Pen I pmd someone with the cake recipe earlier this week, it's a long one so forgive me if I don't post it just yet. I'll post it on the recipe board thread when I'm not so tired -I'll let you know whenit's there0 -
I deleted that response almost as soon as I'd posted it. The only conclusion I can come to is that a moderator re-instated that message, perhaps they could explain why? I smell a rat.
Poet is in fact correct, her post had been deleted and reinstated in error. It was a genuine mistake on my part and I have apologised to Poet by pm but she has asked me to post a public apology on this thread. I am sorry Poet and I hope we can move on from this now.

Pink
Thank you for that.
I'd just like to point out, now that the post has been RE-deleted, that I didn't swear at another poster as was stated above. I used stars like this "******" and I wasn't swearing AT the poster, it was more a statement of disbelief. I posted in haste in response to a condescending reply which upset me and I deleted my response when I'd thought better of it. If it hadn't been re-instated, most people would be none the wiser.
I am not in the habit of being rude to people in message forums and it does upset me when other people are rude to me. I'll just have to learn to ignore it in future.
Sorry for highlighting this again but I just wanted to say my piece.0 -
