I probably shouldn't be doing this but it did tick me off me at the time....

me- "is it possible to marinate something in a dry mixture?"

she- "yes, poet, it is possible to marinate using a dry spice rub, which is what this is. I was a chef for many years and do know what I'm talking about!"

    oooooooooooooo, get her!

Which is why I was having a giggle at this thread. I don't like being patronised when I was asking a genuine question! ;)

I think you're right. You probably shouldn't be doing it.

I thought this board was meant to be a friendly place, not somewhere to nit pick when people are trying to help.

Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help? :p

Nerd alert!!! Nerd alert!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

There are some very sad (clever) people on this Board :rotfl: :o :T :D

The following is a copy of the mail which I have sent to the abuse team:

I may be over reacting but this post really upset me. I was answering a genuine question with the most accurate information I could find using a quick Google search, and I don't see that using smiley faces or putting a complimentary word in brackets stops a series of insulting comments being just that. In fact, it is my opinion that it is this craven effort to have it both ways -attacking while pretending to be admiring - which makes the whole thing even more upsetting.

How very eloquently put seakay. The same has been done to me in the past, good for you for speaking up. Let's put an end to these veiled snide comments disguised by winks and smiley faces!

I'll repeat what I said above....please can we keep this thread on topic! This is not the place to air grieviances against one another.

It's been reported to abuse who will deal with the off topic posts, so can we please leave it now, otherwise the whole thread will have to be closed.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear :o (oops - are emoticons allowed anymore ? )

It certainly wasn't intended to be in any way a "veiled snide remark". Quite the opposite. It was very seriously intended to be a huge compliment to someone who quite clearly knew "their onions (or is that raisins? Or sultanas?)". Hence my acknowledgement that there are some very clever people on here.

Truly sorry to have offended - it is not at all my style as a quick glance at my other posts (thousands of them!!!) will, I hope, demonstrate.

If Abuse deem it out of order I shall, of course, respect and accept that.

FWIW ..... I am a bit of a nerd myself ... but incredibly proud of it :o:D
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

I hope that you are going to stop this too (see post 13 on this thread)
Sorry to the Op and PinkWinged but I couldn't let this one lie. I am very grateful to anyone who takes the time to answer a query I have and certainly wouldn't feel the need to pass comment on them. Can't you just thank people and leave your personal feelings about them off the thread?

This is a thread about raisins for goodness sake!!
