Bill from Scottish Power for old property?

Yesterday my landlord dropped off a bill for my old address of a whooping £342. Thing is I havn't lived there for a year and a half. I phoned scottish power when I first moved to say there was a problem with my account. I used to live with my sister and when I moved in with my girlfriend at the new address, they put both her and my name on the account for the old property as well. I told them their mistake and they said they would fix it. Obviously not.

Any suggestions what to do? I don't want the debt in my name or going on my credit record. Current plan of attack is to write to them as a complaint with all the information/copies of my letters (Past ones stating I was moving address) and see if that sorts it. I don't want this affecting buying a house myself or having debt collectors after me.
Thanks

PS Just tried looking for a postal address. Does anyone have one for complaints?

Are you saying that you have been billed for a period where you did not live at the address. And that you have evidence you were living elsewhere and paying utility bills for that different address?

Or, are you saying that you were living at the address during the period billed but do not want to be responsible for that bill?

If the former - why has the landlord given you the bill?
If the latter, what makes you think you shouldn't pay the bill? If you were living there, you and anyone else living there would be jointly and singly responsible.

It is the former. I have been billed for a year and a half that I wasn't living there and therefore I don't think I should have to pay ;)

The landlord has given the bill as it was addressed to me. I moved a few doors down with the same landlord so he always drops off any letters from the old address.

Ironically I have bills with scottish power from my new address as well saying that I moved my account.

Just an admin error then? If you closed the account, you would have submitted closing meter readings and been issued a final bill so should be quite easy to prove you weren't liable.
