im currently with bt for internet and phone line paying really high prices it seems so decided to terminate my contract. Im moving properties next sat. was contemplating in getting sky as they said they would install a new line for me free of charge i was looking into getting the bundle for 16.50 then free internet and calls. i gave the man from sky my postcode and they dont do the free internet in my area im moving to i would have to pay 17.50 for it. he was so pushy in trying to get me to just pay 16.50 for tv and phone plus my line rental . i declined this offer.
when i pick up the phone in my new house to dial out their is no dial tone and they're is all wires for virgin around.
im not sure what i need a new line fitting in and i really want the internet at a decent cheap price
does anyone know any deals which may intrest me and what to do about my phoneline as i cannot hear a dialing tone it it does it mean i will need a new line installed ?
i would be appreciated with any help as i am really stressing out about the move itself and cant be without the internet for long

If you want any other service than Virgin then you'll have to get a BT ADSL line installed. BT will charge you £122+VAT.
The Virgin reconnection charge used to be around £25 but I'm not sure if that still applies-either way it would be cheaper than BT for you, at least for the first 12 month's that you'd have to stay with BT for line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop

i have been looking on the virgin website at various packages. by the looks of things your better getting talk unlimited as that is all i would pay for the month unless i rang a mobile. i want broadband and tv aswell. talk unlimited seems to budge the price up alot but i need to think of the amount of phone calls ill be making a month and how i make most of my phone calls in the day to landlines
i was advised by someone on the internet to go for the talk unlimited cheapest broadband and tv package as i could get a Eurovox to get all the other channels for free, has anyone ever heard of one of these?

For internet, the best LLU provider on your exchange by a mile is o2. If you have an o2 mobile, contract or PAYG, you can get the o2 standard service for £7.34, otherwise £12.23. Free wireless router, 1st month free, 24/7 free customer services. But of course you will need a BT line for this service. If you're interested in that, you could look at other cheaper options for getting a BT line, such as the Post Office service. You could still take Virgin TV on your existing cable.
Virgin can offer you the bundled package, but it terms of service o2 is way ahead.
The only other LLU operator you can have on your exchange is TalkTalk. Again you can get a bundled package with them, but the service will not match o2.No free lunch, and no free laptop
