Corporate Bonds - Good value?

H&L are currently promoting the Jupiter Corporate Bond fund and Invesco Perpetual Income Fund as good opportunities at the moment for lowish risk investment(my interpretation). I am currently looking to invest this years remaining ISA allowance (£3.6K) and all of next years in s&s isas.

With a medium risk overall profile person looking for growth over the next 5-10years would investing in one of these funds be a logical part of a 5-6 fund portfolio?

A further question relates to whether you can deposit a lump sum in funds with H&L and not add to it subsequently. Are there penalties for this?

I have recently put money into Corporate Bonds through H&L.

I believe the risk profile of CB's is in general somewhere between cash and funds. Some CB's are a higher risk than others in the same way as some shares are riskier than others.

Yes you can invest with a lump sum with H&L and then not add more to it and as far as I'm aware, there are no penalties for doing this.

Definitely as long as the lump sum is £1,000 it's not an issue, money is money after all!

H&L seem very flexible. I've just started four £50/pm drip feeds (One of which is a corporate bonds fund funnily enough) but can top them up with lump sums when ever I like from what I've read.
