you will need to buy a TRIM cleaner, turtle wax do a very good one of these and it comes in a red bottle. called turtle wax trim cleaner spray this on a cloth and rub into the plastics where the polish has gone onto them, this should get rid of the white bits if this doesnt work then use an old tooth brush and work in the cleaner with this and after this is done i will give you a tip for getting your plastics black again, either use a johnsons baby wipe or use baby oil on a cloth, this will give your plastics on your car a very good shiny black look to them:beer: steves cleenz valeting :beer:0

It's very important at this time of year to wash your car once in a while because all the salt they put on the roads to stop the ice splashes up onto your car and if left will start to corrode it.
Our house overlooks a motorway so our (black) car can look like it needs washed 2 minutes after it has been  Doesn't stop me making hubby do it every weekend though, it looks nice when it's all shiny

Apparantly you can buy spray-on 'designer mud' for people who live in towns and cities and drive gas guzzleing 4x4's, so it looks like they have been driving on their country estates. I'm doing it the OS way. I don't have the 4x4 or the counrty estate but I have real genuine mud. It's money saving too!
p.s I'm too lazy to clean the car, it only gets dirty again so why bother, I just hose it down when I can't tell what colour it's supposed to be.0 -
OH washes my car when he washes his cherished motorbike. It works best if he also likes to drive the car as well (doesn't want to be seen in a dirty car). I make him a nice Sunday lunch as a rewardEnjoying an MSE OS life0

Hi all,
I was just on my way to the car wash when I decided to turn round do the car at home myself tomorrow afternoon, with a bucket and sponge of course, and not a hose! Then I realised that I don't have any special car shampoo, and I wondered if I could use a bit of fairy liquid or my newly purchased stardrops to do the job. I know it seems like a stupid question and I'm pretty sure both would be ok, but I don't want to take the paint off the car, as it's a company car and they might not be too pleased... I've searched the forum but can't find anything on cleaning the outside of the car.
does anyone have any suggestions? I know it's not the most exciting of queries!
any would be gratefully received,
thanks very much x xFull time working mum to 2 boys

Eeeeeek
Don't use fairy liquid or any other washing-up liquid. Very, very bad for your car.0 -
