They are marvellous. My ( adult) children use them all the time from Manchester to London and back with never a problem.

We used them last August to go from London to Cardiff and back and they were really good. The coach driver was lovely on both journeys. The coach was half empty going out from Victoria at 8.30am so lots of seats to stretch out. It did one stop at Bristol to load more passengers on, but it was only a 10 minute stop and on both journeys we arrived ahead of eta. I recommeded Megabus to a friend and she and DH used them as only £2 return each, before Christmas to visit DH parents and she said they were good.

Megabus is good - we normally go to London from Leeds on it over Aug Bank Hol. Cheap and cheerful. Normally full of students. Takes a while but cheap cheap cheap!

My sister & her girlfriend went on one from Cornwall to London the other day. On the way up it was fab, but on the way back it was a nightmare. The toilet was broken & the drivers refused to stop for anything other than for them to change around! In the end they moaned that much at the drivers that they were allowed to use the drivers bathroom.

My sister complained & got a free ticket for her one-way!! Not very good customer service imo.

Your sister has been unfortunate here. Usually as other posters have said, this is a tip-top service and very reasonably priced.

The drivers have a timetable to keep to, but usually they are ahead of schedule and it is common for there to be unofficial stops for ten minutes or so so that they can keep to schedule. They are not allowed to arrive early into London for congestion reasons at the bus station, and at all other stops en-route they can't leave before the advertised departure time.

I assure you that your sister's journey was not typical.

There are several stops in Cornwall I think. They got on in Newquay as that's where she lives.

I've just checked the Megabus website http://www.megabus.com/uk/ & yeah they stop in Bristol & Bath. :T

Obviously don't know where you live, but if you live in the mid-Somerset area then Berry's Coaches do a Superfast route to Hammersmith from Wincanton http://www.berryscoaches.co.uk/content/superfast_booking.html for about £20 return. You can book & pay online and the best thing is you can park in Wincanton Memorial Car Park for free whilst you are away :j
