SAR Request's

Hello All,

This is just a temporary thead regarding the SAR process. If users have been following the "V A N Q U I S" & "Sub Prime Thread" thread they would have seen discussions between myself & Never In Doubt regarding submission of a SAR ( Subject Access Request ) We have both submitted them with a covering letter however the statement regarding the fee of £2 was incorrect. Under Section 7(2)(b) of the Data Protection Act 1998 it states that the Data Controller is entitled to request a fee not exceeding the prescribed maximum. The prescribed maximum fee as detailed on the Information Commissioners website is £10.

Today I have recieved a letter from Equifax requesting an additional £8 as the £2 I sent was not enough as per the above section.

CIFAS responded today stating " As at the above date, there is no CIFAS data on our systems registered in your name and date of birth at the address(es) you supplied. They also returned my cheque to me :~)

Yea it is. No more SAR to them for three months then.

    Not sure where he is.

Are you sending another £8 to Equifax and Experian.

Because it's under section 9 not section 7 of the DPA it's £10 not £2.
