Could dope help the economy?

I don't think the dope has helped the economy one bit. Next time let's hope we don't vote him in.0

As it happens, he was white, especially after the experience! I don't think hair to his shoulders and a hat like the one Hendrix wore helped matters though. He was fortunate too that the police didn't 'find' something that wasn't his, lurking in his nether regions.0 -

About a year ago, I was very strongly pro-legalisation.
I though it was incredibily hypocrytical that alcohol is legal, but cannabis, MDMA and coke were illigal. Believe me, if you compare the 4 main street drugs like-to-like to alcohol, alcohol has the strongest effects, and brings out the absolute worst in people.
But when I spent time as a non-smoker around housemates that used it regularly, I started to change my mind. These people were AAA students at a top university, not your everyday druggy.
I started to notice that the regular smokers entered into a depressive state, and were completely devoid of drive to suceed. They all got pretty poor grades, and stopped attending lectures and tutorials. It was just too easy to get into a habit, and the smokers formed a culture.
IMO the only drug which should be legal is MDMA, and everything else including alcohol should be illigal. It probably sounds strange if you believe everything you have been told about drugs, but it makes sense if you understand what the pros/cons of each drug are.
I may not be an authority on smoking skunk myself......but I am an authority on letting a house to those that did!!
They couldn't work, couldn't clean the place. Set fire to beds, sofas, as so stoned they didn't realise they had dropped lit spliffs! The fact the house survived was a miracle, and we got them out once the facts were known.
The fact they actually burnt their next house down is no surprise, though I pity the LL who took them on, as we stated how bad they were and advised against it!
They couldn't function at any level. This is all as a LL of course. I have much darker experiences as a nurse. Dreadful stuff.

That's it; there's a world of difference between the skunk smoked today and the mild spliff that we'd smoke while enjoying a Saturday afternoon with a couple of Floyd albums. Even the wildest of my housemates held down a job, weekdays.
I still get the odd hankering for a bit of 'Interstellar Overdrive' at full volume.....but I don't smoke anything now, so a nice bottle of red has to suffice for 'enhancement!';)0 -

I agree. A good bit of plonk in moderation is fine, and it has to be in moderation, else alcohol is as bad as any drug.
Skunk is dreadful in how quickly it attacks mental health and has nothing to applaud about it's use.

Well, it was often alleged, but never proven of course, that Plod would 'find' some whacky baccy where none previously existed. I have no personal experience of this, though as I was once questioned by the vice squad for being in the same room as a woman, I'm inclined to believe it.0 -
It's just as addictive. I drink a large glass of Red every night with dinner....takes the edge off the day and helps dinner digest. If I don't I get twitchy...guess I am an addict. That's it; there's a world of difference between the skunk smoked today and the mild spliff that we'd smoke while enjoying a Saturday afternoon with a couple of Floyd albums. Full of antioxidants tho'.
As a gardner, guessing you have poly tunnels, if life gets a bit heavy, at least you can grow yourself a bit of a distraction quite cheaply.0 -
My poor brother had the full search at Heathrow some years back.Well, it was often alleged, but never proven of course, that Plod would 'find' some whacky baccy where none previously existed. He'd done a gig in Amsterdam, flew out, did gig and flew back straight after.
At Heathrow I think, a lovely dog was sniffing around him....he stroked the dog and got taken in not having a clue what was going on. To do his job, you have to have a clear head all the time,...so he doesn' t do anything apart from occasional beer whilst playing.
They couldn't find anything and he had no luggage...just his record bag....but they kept on looking as the dog had smelt somrthing.
Strip, the works.
Turned out it was the strong skunk smell clinging to his clothes that had got the dog worked up.
He sometimes still sees them as he is in and out the airport nearly every weekend.....and they wave and say Hi DJ.....how you doing?
He won't mind me posting his youtube for a typical weekend I'm sure. No sniffy dogs or searches tho'.
