A farm foods store has recently opened in a town I pass through on my way home from work each night.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any bargains / food worth purchasing fom here?
Ive only ever heard horror stories of mushy fish relating to this store but as Im trying to save money, I thought Id ask the question.
There is also an Aldi in this town which I went to for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I was really pleased at the saving to be made on everyday products.
I know os is all about cooking from scratch and farm foods is (i think) mainly frozen food but they may stock some useful things?
Any help would be great.

I use Farmfoods all the time. They sell brand name stuff a lot cheaper than the supermarket. Its not just frozen stuff the sell milk, bread, eggs, canned food etc. etc. all a lot cheaper than the supermarket.
The only thing id say is DONT TOUCH THEIR OWN BRAND STUFF WITH A BARGE POLE!!
Its slop... all of it!!0 -
The ice-creams are great in summer well cheap.0

Dry-foods (as such, as in anything not frozen!) are pretty good there.
I remember an offer being on for like 12 cans of Heinz soup for £1.Can I afford to buy? Mortgage Affordability Calculator

I will pop in on my home and check it out.

There are quite often branded products in here. I tend to find that they are 'grabbit why you can' items as they seem to be discontinued/short life/old style packaging/out of date coupons, flash packed. I dont know if that is how they get some of their product but it is what some of it appears to be to me.
It is most definatly worth a look and I use it to supplement my shop elsewhere. (Cherry pick the bargains)
Personally I couldnt do a whole shop there and wouldn't recommend the own label stuff.
Ice creams and ice lollies are fantastic buys and the frozen desserts.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
I can't resist their lasagne pies. No nutrition whatsoever but they are GORGEOUS!0

Nowt wrong with their (really cheap) frozen veg, lorne, chickens, fish sticks or seafood IMHO, but I wouldn't buy their meals or burgers etc.The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

their hash browns are good
i also buy their big bags of banana chips for £1
great place for stocking up on lunchbox goodies
good place to get brand name sauces etc
great place to get chocolate bars...they sell big brand name ones 5/£1 at my local store
i actually don't buy much frozen stuff from them but their shelved stuff is pretty good
you can get cornetto love potion 4pks for £1.75/bogof! mmmmmmmm
also they have a kilo of pork chops for £2.50 (i think) and 12 lambchops (750g or thereabouts) for £2.50 (i think)
not the best quality meat but not too bad, fills a gap!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Thanks for this, we've got one about 9 miles from us and it seemed to much hassle to drive there but we've just had a mailing through the door with total spend money off vouchersOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

The only FF own brand product I ever didn't like was a quiche - I usually make my own but was in a hurry that day!
I love FF - combined with Aldi's it helps me keep omy budget and still have some "treats".
