Paypal taking money back

Thanks to everyone who's offered advice. The address I shipped to was in the UK and was paypal confirmed. I sent the item by Royal Mail registered post although I don't think that makes any difference. The buyer already left positive feedback so he obviously got it. I'm so p#*~d off-my husband is starting his own business and we're trying to save every penny. I'll definately be closing my ebay and paypal accounts after this. I always use paypal as I thought it was a safe and secure way of transferring money. You live and learn!:mad:If you always do what you've always done...

Contact the buyer as well and tell them that if the money is reclaimed you will consider that they have obtained goods fraudulently from you and will be taking legal advice. Also, a minor point but worth knowing, if paypal do refund them then immediately start the NPB process as a npb claim will be allowed and a strike will be placed on their account.

I also see that it says I am eligible for seller protection policy. As I have a premier paypal account and posted the item to the confirmed address would this make a difference? If you always do what you've always done...

Soo
I would start the NPB process now if possible in one claim that i had against me paypal weighted until the 46th day to repsond and issue a refund to the buyer meaning i couldnt then issue a NBP process, so ebay kept the fees there as well. Call me paranoid but the way it was done was just too convienent for them to again max their profits.

Unfortunately the NPB claim won't go through until the paypal money is refunded.

Is there really a 45-day limit for chargebacks? I had a chargeback against me 3 months after the buyer paid. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

A straightforward chargeback has a time limit of 45 days. A claim for fraudulent use of a card has no time limit other than that imposed by the card issuing company.

Thanks Soo - that's why they managed to get to me then. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

i've reworded my original posting - i meant to say the OP hadn't at that point told us it was a CONFIRMED address - just that the paypal account was verified - potentially two different things.0 -
Just a quick update. I phoned paypal yesterday and because I have a premier account and sent the ipod to the confirmed email address I will get my money back even if I lose the case. Well chuffed.:jIf you always do what you've always done...
