music is just about all my money goes on
end of the day, i feel it could've been resolved less harshly on me. everyone changes their mind sometimes, it's only human.
i feel they could've been more understanding, especially as it was only 2 hours & no sale was blocked.
as a result i will not be buying from them in the future0 -

Not really it may look it but as it wasnt faulty or not fit for purpose legally they dont have to. They didnt even have to offer you a partly refundcheers for the reply. an easy £35 for them alright  . seems pretty harsh. i could understand if someone had tried to buy the item, but they hadn't.
ah well..0 -

If I was the shop keeper I would have been suspicious of you.
You may have broken yours and came into my shop, bought a brand new one, took it home, swapped it with the busted one and came back for the refund.
You've had yours replaced for nothing, and I am £350 out of pocket.
I would have been all over it checking it was the one I had just sold to you.
And Who would get out of bed for £35 a Day??0 -

At the end of the day, you could have been stuck with a keyboard that you don't want at a cost to you of £350.
As other members have pointed out, the shop was under no legal obligation to refund you anything at all.
I think they have been very understanding.
how do you know that no sale was blocked?
You could of course have decided not to accept their offer of a 90% refund and taken your unwanted keyboard home again.
Of course everybody changes their mind sometimes.
But they should ensure that they don't buy goods from a shop that doesn't have a more generous returns policy than the law says they should.0 -
The shop can't sell the item as 'new' anymore, as the box has been opened and the item used. They'll probably have to sell it as 'b' stock so they'll be losing money on it - probably more than £35. My OH buys a lot of of music equipment and often buys 'b' stock which are usually customer returns, quite often something's missing (like instruction books or cables) or the packaging is dmamged, so although it can often be a bargain from his point of view, it's not the same as a 'new' item.0

It was mentioned on tv the other day that shoplifters steal goods to return later for a refund. So whilst a shop doesn't have to offer a refund mealy because you changed you mind, so may. However less shops are likely to do this because of thieves and returning goods0
