Are there any discounts around for upgrading from Sky to Sky+? At the moment I have been quoted £249 for the box and installation and £36 a month with movie channels package.
I tried a search on here, but it says that "sky" is too short a word to search, so sorry if this has already been covered.

Hi
If you know someone that has Sky + they may have been sent a card for friends offering free Sky + box and half-price subscription for a few months. Sorry I had them but everyone I know has it already so I ditched it0 -

Yes that offer is available if you want to take out the extra multiroom subscription and beware that the box you get will probably be the old type skyplus box not the skyplus v2.5. The multiroom is £10 extra per month on top of your existing subscription. The best offer direct from sky is the will do the old model skyplus 160 v2 for the same price as skyplus £199. Although the skyplus 160 all have faults on the DD sound from the optical output on recorded DD programes. The best deal is the new skyplus 2.5 160GB box at £150.
If anyone wants to no anything else about sky ask away. I no a little of the billing process and discounts but plenty of technical stuff.0 -
Does the £150 for the new 2.5 box include installation and do you have to take multiroom0

A family member of mine upgraded to Sky+ for £40 and got three months half price too.
I am moving home next week, and plan to call them midweek and ask how much it will be to install Sky+ instead of transferring the Sky I have now !!!0 -

My friends moved house recently. Sky wanted to charge them about £50 to £60 for moving the dish and re-installing. My friend said them them that they would cancel and re-order the other persons name (not Married). Sky then turned around and said that they would do it all for free.
It might all depend on how long you have been with them or how much you pay them each month but never take there initial answer...argue your case a little - could save your self some pounds to spend on new carpets..!!!!!0 -

£150 is for the skyplus unit and quad lnb, you can swap the lnb yourself, or ask a local installer to do it for you, The installation price ranges from £25 - £40 depending where in the UK you live. There is no commitment to take any sky service.0 -

If you are a new sky customer you can have a free sky box and free installation and cusrrently 3 months half price, if you take the skyplus option instead of the free box it was £99 for the old type skyplus units and £89 if you take sky multi room.0
