The browser seems to have stopped re-directing me, and the PC is a lot faster...

Yeah Thanks, I have been remiss with that as I just use my phone for connection and got fed up with automatic downloads when I was on last fm or something!

Strange, but IE is a lot quicker than Firefox now- it used to be the other way round.

Google chrome and Opera are quicker, too. Security-wise, I take it I'm best to stick with Firefox?

Problem with HostExpert: It wouldn't let me restore Microsoft Host File.

And 3 network has barred the LSPFIX site

    Whats 3 network?

Can you not switch it off whilst you run the fix?

Please download and run combofix again (they do update but only by downloading again can you get the updates)

Im interested in how the logs going to look now

Id also try for SERVICE PACK 3 via windows update as reluctant has said

  • Please download GooredFix and save it to your Desktop.
    • Double-click GooredFix.exe on your Desktop to run it.
    • Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.
    • Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.
    • Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.
    • A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).
Note: If you receive a message saying that GooredFix needs your system to be restarted, please close all applications and reboot your system. Please also allow any registry changes that may be prompted by any of your security programs.
