Elephant, Diamond and Bell are part of the Admiral Group http://www.admiralgroup.co.uk/

They also own Confused.com, although that is a comprison service not a provider.

The admiral group will probably have reinsurance through Lloyds of London (as almost every insurer in the world does either directly or through their reinsurers own reinsurers) but they underwrite their own policies (as far as I am aware)

In "my day" the Admiral group divided its claims functions up like many insurers with a team that deals with your losses and a second team that deal with the other side (be it paying them in fault claims or recovering money from them in non-fault. If this is still their claims operating model it is unlikely that the first team will be influenced by the liability situation as whilst they probably share the computer system what the other team put on the screens is of no interest to them.

Is bell car insurance any good and anyone use them and had a claim?I have been looking at a few insurance options and bell insurance comes up best all the time,i now have a very good quote and i am tempted to go with them or elephant but elephant being a little more expensive.

But bell does not include a car replacement if mine is being fixed, which would probably put the price up a little if included but i wonder is it worth having this added, other options are protect no claims i think which does not include me and also breakdown cover which i dont need.

So what do i go for i think admiral, bell and elephant are all the same company? But i find there is a good difference in them all but what would i go for the cheapest?Yes or no.

What do others use on the above and let me know what they things of them as a car insurance company.

I am only going for one of the 3 above as looked into many others and they are the best for me.

Try buying this weeks auto express magazine they have done a comparison of 40 odd insurance companies and rated them for customer service and other criteria

I found RAC to be cheapest at the moment. Also you get free roadside cover.

But be aware that a company that is cheap for one person may not be cheap for another. I would only rely on recommendations in terms of customer service adn satisfaction etc, but not price.
Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!
