  • The Latest Update

I have spent the last 30mins writing my update, just for it to be lost three times! Am I annoyed? You betchya!

Jeeeeeeeez Louuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuise - its monkeys out there today isn't it? Can't believe how cold it is! Shocking.

First and foremost, its Glee-O'clock! Thank heavens for Sky+. The only thing that keeps me sane, especially in light of the fact that my social life is non existent. Good job too as I can't afford a social life anyways. A friend asked me to get together and I said I was really skint and couldn't afford it, to which I got the response, money's not everything, what dates can you do? It seems that people do not listen!!

Thanks to all the new posters, welcome to the nest! Its not normally such a frazzled place to be, usually its warm and cosy and I will get it back to its wonderousness in no time.

When the chq comes through from the insurance peoples, me/MrGG and the joint account are going to split the funds. I hope that we get the amount we think we are getting but the way things are any kind of funding is welcomed.

I applied for a 0% CC however despite the website saying I'd get an answer at the end of the application, it turns out they have to write to me! Well we all know what that must mean. I decided not to apply for anything else until I get the letter. No doubt I'll get the card, if I am lucky, but with a mahooosive APR, basically rendering the card useless. I was honest about the number of cards I had, no point lying.

Anyone watch The Good Wife? Anyone tell me why the husband is in jail??

Fourth time lucky or I am chucking myself down the stairs if this does not post again!

    Til the next installment........

  • Hi Mrs GG

Just been reading parts of your diary for the first time. There are two things that have leapt out at me. In your opening post, you say how your Mr GG "adores you". Just how fantastic is that! Treasure that and remember that you are in this together, not on your own. Secondly, please dont be too hard on yourself and regret getting into debt. Yes, its grotty having to pay it back, however at the time whether it was short lived or not, it gave you some happy times Im sure, and now, because of the debt you are becoming a wiser person, like us all, you also are having support, and advice from this forum from others who you would never have "met" had it not been for your debt. If you are anything like me, this website has been an absolute life saver, a hand to hold in a time of need.

Im sure you and Mr GG will sort this out. Your debt will not last forever. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep looking forward! All the very best!

The husband is in jail for "abuse of office" not sure what that entails though...

If they're a real friend they will do something value-some with you, maybe visit your house for a cuppa/dinner? Have you fessed up to your close friends about your money woes? I found that once I did that people were a lot more understanding.

Forgot to say, how awesome is tonights Glee?

    Loving the mash-up tunes!
  • P&F - you are so right. He does adore me. Not in a sloppy pukey way, but in that he'd do anything for me and is such a lovely generous guy. I am sure I give him a hard time once a month but I do think he is wonderful and am so glad he is mine. I probably don't tell him often enough.

Thanks for posting and hope you stick around. I have read bits and pieces on your diary, you are truly made of amazing stuff, talk about rock solid and I admire your strength and your courage.

F_F : abuse of office???? Pinching a stapler??? Or having it away with his secretary?

All my pals are really good with money, always have been, never spend unless they have the readies. Couple of pals were saying that they had heard a friend had £10k of debt and they thought it was terrible and they could never imagine having such a large debt, they'd be worried sick and don't know how the person sleeps at night. If I did tell them, they would think I was looking for sympathy, which I am not and I think they would disappointed in me.

Love the comment about the Cheerio's leader writing in her journal about turning 30! Errrr and the rest!!!!

Mash up - the girls SO WON!

They're not your mother/father so knickers to them being disappointed in you.

At the end of the day, they might be surprised, but explaining the situation (even if you're not 100% SOA-level honest with them) might help them to understand why you can't go out for dinner/drinks/coffee/whatever.

Hiding things will feel worse in the long run and might lead to you having a Spending To Keep Up With The Joneses moment.

Must dash - The Good Wife is starting :j
