Manchester Restaurant Suggestions Please

Hi

We are planning a trip to Manchester and wander if anyone can suggest a great chinese restaurant in China Town for lunch. We would like a buffet style set menu or similar with good prices and good food, has to be children friendly.

Many thanks

    How about this?

Its not in the centre of China Town, but is close by.

Eat as much as you can for £5.90 per person (including desserts)! 11.45pm - 4pm. :D;)

They sell drinks separately, (including alcohol) but these are a bit pricey, so if you've time and if you feel like a pre or post lunch drink, there's a Wetherspoons pub nearby, where you can get cheap drinks and coffee.

The Paramount - Just walk to the end of Whitworth Street (in the direction of Oxford Road/Oxford Street) and its at the bottom, on the right hand corner.

    Enjoy!
  • No 1 is the best one, there's a huge range of dishes to choose from and good service from the waiters and waitresses. There's also Yum Yums on the top floor of the Printworks http://www.yumyumbuffet.com/read_testimonials.php bit more expensive than No.1 and not as much choice though.

Buffet City on Portland Street is fantastic, seconds from Chinatown, great food, and about 8 quid a head. Well worth it...I go every time I'm in Manchester.

the 1 opposite the NCP car park entrance is the best, they cook food to order, but u can order multiple dishes for a set price, so its all you can eat without it having sat there under canteen lights for 2 hrs.

Pan Asia is terrific. At night, it's a regular restaurant, but during the day they do a buffet lunch. When I lived in Manchester I used to eat there all the time.

Red Chilli on Portland Street is also good - their lunchtime offering isn't a buffet exactly, but it is a set menu and there's loads of choice.

Or, try the Little Yang Sing - again, a really well regarded restaurant in its own right, they do a lunch menu for £9.95 (2 courses) during the week which is great value - the quality of the food there is top-notch.

Buffett City is one of the best and Ty wue (I think that is how you spell it). It is just around the corner from Buffett City, they have a normal resturant upstairs and a buffett resturant down stairs.
