Cheesed off with VM, cant change to them, no service.

Was working out today that I could get a faster braodband service with them, plus phoneline and TV for the same money we are paying Bt/02 for line and broadband, but when I called them, they cannot supply our address as is the same for every other address on this road, they say it must be something to do with the cabling under the road. Really annoyed, the neighbours have it, and I am less than a meter from their brown box outside the window!Grrrr

Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

    when was your house built?
when i lived elsewhere they built a whole new estate in 3 phases after the uk existing houses was al cabled, the first phase didnt have cable built in, the second (i lived on) didnt cable built in and we would have to pay to have our houses cabled, but the third phase they decided to put their brain in working order and cabled the phase while they built it. if i had lived next door to a house on phase 3, they would have had the cables but i wouldnt. another thing you neighbour may have done it paid to have the cables put in?

Right, just got off the phone to an extremely helpful Virgin engineer who is coming out to give my house a once over on Monday night, he says the cable does run in front of my house and there shouldn't be any reason why we can't have all the services we want. he seems to think the problem lies with our house, it used to be a corner shop AND end of terrace house, but the shop part is now integrated into the house, but their systems still recognise the property as commercial not residential, but he can manually override this. House was built in 1899.
