Well I wouldn't do it online myself if there was a need for speed. The internet is merely an interface between Humans. I would go see a local efficient Solicitor and broker.

I do online applications with lenders but there are many many pitfalls and misunderstandings when a piece of software is involved.

In my experience if you want conveyancing done quickly and efficiently, you need to use a "proper" solicitor, not an online service.

Most solicitors / conveyancers these days work via email, fax and post so you wouldnt need to visit their office if this is what you mean by "online solicitor" and if you specify that you need it doing quickly this shouldnt be an issue for the majority of conveyancers.

Try to get a solicitor who has been recommended by someone you know.

We are having an absolute nightmare with an online convayancing company at the moment and I just wish I hadn't used them. We were told we would complete within 6 weeks, it has been 13 so far!!!

    If only they did!

Many will not use email or faxes and that's why I always say, to those looking for a solicitor, to check if they communicate by these methods and if there is a direct line telephone number to the person with who you will be dealing. Also who you can talk to if the solicitor is out, with client, or in court as can be the case.

Those who dont will not be in business much longer these days, its simply not viable to refuse to deal with emails and faxes. I even text my clients if I cant get hold of them.
Check when you're getting a conveyancing quote, if emails, faxes and the like will be used as a forms of communication

My vote would always be for someone whose desk you can rattle.

Of course, speed may come at a price.

i am currently using a company i found online..i cannot vouch for them yet as the transaction hasn't gone through, but I found them through one of the conveyancing comparison sites. they werent the cheapest on the list, but i checked their website and i called them to get a feel for them. They are a real solictor firm and i have a real person dealing with my case who i can call when needed.
but as i said, it hasnt gone through so i could be on here swearing about them in a month or so!!!

as time is of the essence in a repo i would suggest you dont use an unknown quantity though, go with someone who is recommended, or local so you can hassle them in person (mine's in south wales- i'm in essex!).

you may save a couple of hundred going online, but you could lose the house if the ones you choose arent up to it??

    good luck!
