Fisher Price

I'll try and keep this short by bullet pointing the story, here goes:
-Bought a Rainforest melodies sounds & lights deluxe gym for my baby son for christmas
-Few weeks ago the mirror fell off
-Took back, got given a refund
-Store then said they weren't going to do anything about it as no others had been returned
-Contacted Fisher Price about it
-Lady called and talked through my concerns
-Offfered to send baby son a gift (lovely I thought)
-Today the gift arrives
-Open it to find a Peek-A-Boo Piano worth around £30, only problem is its covered in green dust (for anyone who's ever put wooden floor down it looks like the dust you get when you cut the boards down to size) which sets off my asthma! No way am I giving this to my son to play with.
-Taken photos and emailed them to Mattel (mother company of Fisher Price), now awaiting reply

The question is where do people think I should go with this from here? Opinions and advice wanted!

Thanks In Advance

I agree. Clean it up and let the child play with it.

Whatever happened to the days where kids would be covered in dust, mud, paint etc and loving it

Dust like stuff wont come off the material part of the toy, I've tried that and he is into putting everything in his mouth at the minute, so isn't really safe as not too sure if it is dust or bits or cardboard from when it was packaged... could be ground down bits of anything for all I know!

Is it not surface washable? I would occasionally surface wash a lot of DD's toys that were similar to this.

I'm sure you would compain too if a mirror had fell off a babys toy and when you picked it up it had cut you... could easily have been my babys face that was cut by it! Also, the gift to rectify the situation was sent with grime all over it like it had been stored in a dirty warehouse for months beforehand, tried to clean this off with a damp cloth(only way that is recommended due to it being battery operated) and it will NOT come off! For you information email sent thanked the lady very much for the gift and explained the situation with the dirt that was all over it, she has seen the pictures and was shocked that this had been allowed to leave the warehouse as it is!

As said in the original post I have cut the story down a hell of a lot so that it's not an essay, in future I suggest that if you have no comments relating to the question asked in the first place then you should restrain yourself from typing an unnessecary reply!
