Hi folks well I escaped very quickly even after taking time to say goodbye to people I am now home... I was given some lovely cards and pressies and someone had taken the trouble to make up a hamper which was very nice...

I got rung by a recruitment consultant on the way home but unfortunately it was for a job that was way too far away....

I have a horrible feeling that I may not have got to next stage from the interview last week as they have now decided to advertise it as a perm rather than interim role... Unless they are planning to benchmark me against them I'm assuming that is bad news... They are going to contact me to give me feedback shortly..... Doesn't sound that positive does it?

I'm planning to take things easy the rest of the day... Go and pick up the kids which will make my DD very happy and perhaps do some of that dreaded housework - believe me my house could do with some help.... LOL

Just feel sad today that a good thing has come to and end - need to be grateful as well tho that it was a good thing and ended on a positive note...

    Hard tho...

On a more positive note - I have been using some of my bingoport amazon vouchers to pay for some job hunting books - last week I started reading SUMO (Shut Up Move On) - love it - still part way thro. I was also recommended "What colour is your parachute?" - which is supposed to be THE job hunters guide to getting back in work so that is positive anyway....

Just had a little play on bp and I am about 25% of the way there to my next voucher - it all helps... Won a whole 45p today on my free daily scratchcards but I am up to nearly £2 on each of them despite cashing out on them a week or so ago...

That housework is still where it was an hour ago... I wonder how long I can ignore it for? The front room looks like we've been burgaled! I've got one thing from the parachute book - it says initially when you lose your job you should catch up on your sleep deficit so that you have more energy when you are job hunting and at interviews.... now that is advice I am happy to follow :rotfl:

Sorry just had to share this.... in my SUMO bookby Paul McGee - it talks about the OBE (out of body experience) some people have when you overshare - the glazed look and then goes on to describe it as like "the wheel's turning but the hamster is dead" - love it ROFL :rotfl:

  • Hey there!

One piece of advice, is don't try and guess the outcome of interviews, wait and see what happens.

Chances are the interim role has gone perm cos they now have headcount or something? You never know!!!!!

Well GG you were right... it has gone perm and they are going to advertise some more which will slow the process down - however they still want to see me again!:j :j :j

Well DD was really pleased as I picked her up from school but is now jealous as I let her brother have a friend over to play.... with my DS being older they will entertain themselves but the age she is at - friends require more intervention! I've told her perhaps Friday LOL! She has cheered up again now...

The front room still looks like a bombsite although the dishwasher in the kitchen is motoring away. I need to try and work my magic on the downstairs while DS and friend are upstairs in the hope he doesn't go home and tell his mum the state of our house!!!  She has always struck me as the houseproud type which I don't think anyone could accuse me of in a million years!:rotfl:

Which is exactly what I hoped would happen. Still a pain in the butt I agree cos why do they need to shop around when they have you there willing and waiting.

Jobhunting - such a game of right royal politics!

Ps - no such thing as a messy home, I call it "lived in"........ sadly our house definitely looks lived in! By a muddy dog! LOL
