Damaged PAYG sim - are replacements available?

My o2 PAYG Sim Card is irreversibly damaged - is it possible to get a replacement keeping the same number?

  • I know that on contract if you lose your sim you can get another and have it transferred over

My son had his phone stolen, I replaced his phone and SIM, O2 transferred his old number to the new SIM and any leftover credit...

just ring them up, I lost my PAYG sim, and they transferred the credit and number to a new sim at no charge
  • Like previous posters have already stated you should be able to get another sim and get o2 customer services to transfer your number across. However you will lose all text messages (assuming it was saved on the sim). o2 keep offering free sims so you should be able to use one of them if you manage to get them through the post.

    Thanks everyone.

Now awaiting a replacement sim in the post with my old number & credit transferred to it
  • kai666 I meant that it might be quicker, if need be, to get one of those free ones that they might have got and register, then get CS to transfer their number onto the new card instead of waiting. Just in case they had to pay for a replacement.
