Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P
Better 'bump' this before I 'catch up' with the news - was away yesterday.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Morning All
Poor Weller - I hope she does come back and hope she realises that the poster was a troll just trying to upset people in general and not targeting her specifically. I know Weller often lurks for a bit anyway so hopefully she'll be back when she's ready.
Good Morning All
:mad:Have you seen that B4!ines & 3rnst have got permission to post. Probably going to trawl through for all references to the them and try to reassure us they are looking after their customers well (and probably that making a huge profit is only a secondary purpose of their organisation):rolleyes:A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

As I was not around, yesterday, it seems that I have missed the latest Troll attacks.
I can only say that any 'attack' on Weller711 is an attack on all of us, but Weller's contribution, to this board is, to say the least, legendary.
Not only did she come here as a frightened victim of everything that the worst side of the financial and debt collection industry could throw at her, she pulled herself totally around. With the help of, now long gone but never to be forgotten posters such as 'File Wizard', 'MacByrnie', 'CLAPTON' and others, she not only pulled herself out of the brown stuff, but went on to pass the benefit of her experience on to others, including myself.
She remains the undisputed 'oracle' when it comes to cca requests, and is 'one of the few' posters who not only contested, and won, some of the most underhanded debt collection agencies, but also succeeded in getting monies that she had unnecessarily paid, to these scavengers, repaid.
In spite of her own personal tragedies, weller continued to support this site, and, in particular, this forum - she was always a voice of reason - so if the Trolls  have succeeded in chasing her off of this forum, then, whilst the Trolls  may be claiming 'victory' it is, indeed, a sad loss for DFW.
I sincerely hope that we have not seen the last of Weller.:sad:

What a miserable day - not cold, black clouds and heavy showers in Wiltshire.

Have a good trip Numpty.
I'm not sure I'd recognise a slow worm - I'd be too busy running away from the 'snake'. Well as that chicken should be well fed today, I hope she lays you a double yolker tomorrow!
