I'm off down sarf again in about 30 mins:rolleyes:

As the days have long gone when you could 'arrive' anywhere south of Newport Pagnall, climb out of the back of a lorry and, in your best 'Yorkshire' accent, shout 'ASSYLUM', in order to be 'showered with benefits and housing, all it remains for me to do is to say:
'Have a good trip, numpty'

I do hope that Weller returns - she is one wise woman.

Its been raining here too and it sums up my despondent mood - I was expecting to receive my glasses on Friday but I didnt get a call from the hospital so I phoned them today, it seems that the manufacturer is only just putting the coating on the lenses and so they will be here on Thursday:rolleyes: Dagnabbit - I wanted to drive too as I need to go to the nice chemist in the village (its too far to walk) as they keep my eye drops in stock:mad: I went to make a bacon sandwich for lunch and got the bread out to find that it smelt a bit mushroomy and had green bits on it:eek: - so no lunch for me as the bacon stayed in the fridge:rolleyes:

Perhaps the slow worm should have moved a bit quicker especially with chickens around.

    Bump back to 1

Sympathy for your miserable day H. Any chanec the chemist do a delivery service and would send out your eye drops (I assume they are prescription?). One of my local chemists will do this for free. Yikes to mouldy bread, looks like Rog's chicken is eating better than you.

And better than me, Tixy - we're not having meat today - live or otherwise.

I don't ever have meat :D but I do hunt slugs to feed live to the ducks - is that cruel? Well its not cruel to the ducks anyway and its kind to the veg patch.

I had a yoghurt for lunch cos I overslept and didn't bring anything else to work

:DHorace - sorry about the carp day, these things are sent to try us.

Rog - have you only got one chicken now? Why not get another to keep her company (and for double the eggs)?

Tixy - a yoghurt for lunch? you must be ravenous - perhaps we can spit roast a nice juicy troll for you....

I had a lousy day yesterday. Leak under kitchen sink. Phoned insurance company 0900hrs. Nine hours later - plumber arrived to fix. yes, nine hours, seven phone calls, six promises that someone would ring us and they didn't, one excuse about a system breakdown, one excuse about a fax machine not working, OH and me both climbing the walls stressed out, the water off all day - had to turn it on and off quickly every time we wanted to use the loo or wash up....thank goodness our son was away for a few days as ours was not a nice house yesterday. Snotty complaint letter sent recorded delivery today.
Apart from that, life is pretty good in Nargleland

GRRRR at the useless plumbers Nargle - I can imagine you were very stressed by it (and especially about the loo, why do you always need to go more when you know you can't?)

Spit roast troll sounds like meat I could make an exception for, but as it is I am now full of veggie-mince, veggies and lemon meringue pie (not eaten at the same time!)

How is your monkey garden Numpty? and your nephews & nieces? oh and Wol of course (:o)?

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P
