Moring all - I found this on page 2.
Just gotten off the phone to the bank - they are increasing the interest rate on my e-saver account to 1.25% from 0.25%:j but the swines won't increase the credit limit on my Visa card so I have told them that I will stop using it and use my Amex instead as that has a higher credit limit a £2k limit on my visa card is unworkable but they keep blethering on about income and that I need to earn at least £2K a month before they will increase:mad: The credit limit on my Amex card is £8500 and on my Virgin card is also £8K. Visa seem to be a bit narked that I can pay my rent and my council tax and dont have any loans or HP - well they can go and rotate on a pointy stick - my credit rating is excellent:rotfl::mad:
Tixy - the kind of events I will be doing will be anything from training days, outdoor concerts, carnivals, gala dinners, awards ceremonies, conferences, product launches - you name it in the corporate world and I will do it:j - not one wedding:rotfl:
So Wol - when are we going to see the totty piccies - there is nothing like a workman caked in muck to get the juices flowing:eek::rotfl::D0 -
Morning all,
looks like numpty's taking the rain back with him - now bright & sunny here.
Good luck with your new venture Rog
Well done Horace for interest rate

Afternoon all (found on page 3:eek:)
Yes, it was lovely here this morning and now its raining:mad: I nipped to town today to see my solicitor and picked up a rather nice cheque with 5 figures before the decimal point and 30p after the decimal point:eek: I have plans for the money as some will go on credit cards (not much) £3600 will go into my ISA and the rest saved for a rainy day in my e-saver, it shall stay there fore 12 months earning some interest until I can find a better home for it:D I shall continue living my frugal life.
Oh curse it dagnabbit I missed that programme on the Beeb last night about eating well on a limited budget:mad:0 -

Bump from me, the rain has just come briefly and gone here so maybe it was as Numpty passed by on his train

Thanks, H - at the moment anything would be better than 'the (not so) Jolly Green Giant'. They have informed us that, due to current trading conditions (they have posted record profits) the annual pay award, in October, will be limited to 14 pence an hour - that's about 2%.
Why I said that my discussions were of a similar 'vein' to yours is that I am talking to a Company who wants to represent the machines that I 'used to' sell in the UK. The mutual suggestion would be that I 'join' them, on a self-employed basis, as their 'Technical Sales Manager'. They would cover my expenses, and the 'commission' earnt on the sales of the machinery would be shared. They would be able to provide the technical back up and engineering knowledge, thereby freeing me to concentrate on sales.
I have just about sorted the car 'problem' and hope to sign a gentleman's agreement, rather than a binding contract, with them next week.
As it would be a 'commission' based role, it would, unfortunately, mean that I would have to continue working at ASDA, on a part-time basis, until the sales take off.
On the plus side, I would not have to raise the capital that I would have needed, if I had started entirely on my own.
So, hopefully, some good news, for a change, from me within the next few days.
Hey Rog..it's sounding good.
I was a Technical Sales Director..and now help start-up companies raise finance adn advise on bueinss strategy/plans/ etc etc.
..Over a two year period I have helped companies raise a total of £13m...(divide that between <20 companies)...if you ever want to just pass something by me for a second opinion.....please don;t hesitate Pm me Hun.....
Good luck!
