Take it you are not working for ASDA today Rog?
No Tixy - no ASDA today- got absolutely drenched last night  - back in tomorrow though
Am spending today trying to sort out my own business - funnily enough, I'm having 'similar' discussions with one company as 'Horace' had today - fingers crossed.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks, H - at the moment anything would be better than 'the (not so) Jolly Green Giant'. They have informed us that, due to current trading conditions (they have posted record profits) the annual pay award, in October, will be limited to 14 pence an hour - that's about 2%.
Why I said that my discussions were of a similar 'vein' to yours is that I am talking to a Company who wants to represent the machines that I 'used to' sell in the UK. The mutual suggestion would be that I 'join' them, on a self-employed basis, as their 'Technical Sales Manager'. They would cover my expenses, and the 'commission' earnt on the sales of the machinery would be shared. They would be able to provide the technical back up and engineering knowledge, thereby freeing me to concentrate on sales.
I have just about sorted the car 'problem' and hope to sign a gentleman's agreement, rather than a binding contract, with them next week.
As it would be a 'commission' based role, it would, unfortunately, mean that I would have to continue working at ASDA, on a part-time basis, until the sales take off.
On the plus side, I would not have to raise the capital that I would have needed, if I had started entirely on my own.
So, hopefully, some good news, for a change, from me within the next few days.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
