Looks like it's going too be a scorcher today.:D
Here we go again   It's raining 'cats and dogs' here.  :huh:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P

Happy/modest enough to say I did, Horace. I like trees as well, lol :AIf many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.

Your pictures are fab MF - I keep sending bad vibes to the tree cutters or more importantly to the swines that asked for the trees to be chopped down:mad: Where is the local owl going to roost now?
Mind you, I suppose he can roost in the tree outside my window - I picked my flat because of the trees, I have an old rowan tree and some kind of knarled fruit tree outside my window (in our garden). My view has changed enormously and not for the better:mad: How I wish I had taken photos of them before they were murdered:rolleyes:

the trees were there long before the houses were built:rolleyes:
There's a plot of land at the back of my house - probably big enough to build 8 or 9 reasonably sized houses. It was used as an 'orchard' and vegetable garden by the old chap, who owned it, till he died ten years ago. The 'relatives', who magically appeared from the woodwork when he died, saw it as a 'licence to print money' and, with a developer, put in for planning permission to build 12 (yes TWELVE) new houses.
Planning permission was refused because of the trees and they have, over the years, appealed several times - each time reducing the number of houses they intended to build. Last year they finally got planning permission - to build three houses - on the very strict condition that the trees remained intact.
Great 'shame' that they are unlikely to become instant millionaires  .
Great victory for the environment. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

The vehicles are parked on a plot of waste ground - its a triangular shaped piece and you could probably fit a house or two on it, but it can never be built on as the only access is through the jobcentre carpark and they like to lock it at night:j They won't be chopping down any more trees if I can help it:j
There is nothing worse than people who want to make loads of money for the sake of a bit of land a few trees.0 -
I definately heard someone talking about tree preservation orders (might have been phil and kirstie) and I'm sure they said you just had to prove the trees enhanced your life and you could get an order on any tree. I think they said it can be done in 24hours in 'necessary' cases. I would definatley look into it Horace. 200year old trees have far more of a right than whatever will replace them. MF your pictures are really professional looking, that looks a lovely wood.
My folks are planting a new wood on their land at the moment. Over the last 3 years I think they have planted around 250trees - all british natives. It will look great in 30years! They have sadly had to cut down a few old fruit trees in their very old orchard but enough still remain.
