Me the wife and kids went to disney land paris and whilst we where there the wife slipped on the wet floor and had to be taken to hospital. Whilst we were at the hospital i showed the e11 certificate and they sorted the wife out. 3 months later i am receiving a bill in french from the hospital asking for 30 odd euros. The letter is all in french and they want payment by euros. Do i pay if so how do i pay. Help me please as i dont know what to do. there is no english on the letter so i cant make any sense of it

Is it short enough to type up on here. Someone may be able to translate it. If not, I have a buddy on another forum who is French and I am sure she will do it if I PM her the details.0

If it's short enough to type, go to goole and search for free translation. You just type in the message click the button and it translates the text into what ever language you request - it's not perfect but as least you'll get a rough idea of what it says.0

copy and paste it into http://babelfish.altavista.com/
if they have e-mail you can also do one from english to french and ask how you can payIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Here's the link to the EHIC page which took over from the E111

In the what it covers section it says that you get the same cover as insured people in that country, which may not be the same as you'd get on the NHS, so you may have to contribute to the cost.
This may be what's happened.0 -
take it into the kids scholl ask a french teacher what it says0

Have you asked the people who owned the floor about it? Surely they're liable to compensate you for their negligence. A friend was knocked unconcious by a basketball on one of those sideshow things in Disney Florida, had to go to hospital for observation and Disney picked up the bill.0

It is highly possible that you have to pay a small fraction of the cost as health systems are different. I don't quite know what the agreements covers these days.
(I think for example you have to pay a nominal fee for food in French hospitals now... and part of the costs of medecine is at the patient cost ).
Anyway, if it's short try typing the essence of it here and I'll translate for you!I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0
