Firstly let me say this is just my view of the other board that was opened. I’m not speaking for the moderators or the people that set the board up.

The board was set up as a temporary place for mse’ers to go for the weekend, expecting it to be for the weekend only and everyone was invited to sign up which was why it was advertised on a public message board.

Lots of people posted on the grabbit thread and the chat thread so they’d lost 2 forums for the weekend.

There were restrictions on the Bootsters chat thread in that chat should really be Boots related. You could not offer swaps and you were not supposed to post personal information. The other forum has evolved since starting and regulars on the chat thread are now using the other forum which has more freedom. If you want somewhere to chat about anything you can chat there.

Posting there means that are less of the useless posts (also known as really fun chat) that you have to read though to find the grabbits.

The posters are still posting grabbits on here for all mse’ers to read.

So I see it that if you want to chat about anything you can go and chat on the other forum, if you just want a read you can read the grabbits here and post if you find any bargains or grabbits or have a question that someone can help with.

P.S. I more of a reader than a poster myself and I’ve found this thread of mse to be so useful.

Hi folks, can I just say that there are quite a few boards that have sprung up from the original grabbit thread.

Some are totally private by invitation only, as is the right of the people running them.

The one set up by Liverbird was generously thrown open to MSE via a link. She did not have to do that, she could have just cherry picked as others have done in the past.

There is nothing stopping anyone from setting up there own board if they don't like the rules on another one. So please don't worry if the rules aren't to everyones liking, your own board can be set up with your own rules.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, just an observation on my part. But if anyone does have a particular problem with liverbirds board, she is very friendly I suggest they send her a PM about it.

    HTH

    Hello Bootsters :hello:
You all ok. Went to Westfield and had a good time mooching in and out of all those lovely shops :)
Did check out Boots, not much going on in there at the moment...
Will read the last few pages and post my finds (or lack of them) in a minute. :)

    Thanks
I was just wondering, cos the date has been changed a couple of times now, which is a bit unusual for a charity event.

As in the current petal one? If so I'm a bit surprised to see these going at this price already  Particularly when they are still full price in some stores which have got them in stock!
They were £2xx each and had light coloured shadows in them..
Pale light green, lilac, peachy ( I think) and another colour in a circular compact.
I saw the same ones at Westfield today full price on the No7 counter.
These clearance ones were a real bargain. HTH. :)

Just found a pic of the ones I saw: Here

Hi hja, hve you confirmed wether it was mcmillans or comic relief this charity event is for? tia Its very good of you to be doing this work, such a shame that its only open to staff and pupils, you think that whichever charity it is would want as many people as poss going to it, never mind eh?

Whenever my daughters schools or their scout group have done fundraisers it's open door to everyone, big signs outside for a week, leaflet drops to the local houses and mentioned at the local church and local press whenever possible. They want everyone's money (students often don't have much spare cash). I agree with need a break it's a shame they're not letting everyone in to your event so they can appreciate all the work that's been done and then be able to raise even more money.

    It sure is NAB

I mean, I always go to my bairns' charity events.
I don't know if a school/college would want all items donated by children + all items bought by children.. even if it is for charity ..
