I will add that to my list hun
I'm not really up to date with newer perfumes as I seem to just stick to the ones I know I likeand know I thought it was time to broaden my horizon and try new ones as it's not me paying for them :rotfl:
Thanks again
Maybe really treat yourself and buy some of the more expensive and classic ones (Chanel, Dior) which perhaps you normally would not buy? Don't know about expiry date on your prize, but if stored away from direct sunlight and unopened, they should last you years.
Agree with the JP Gaultier Classic recommendation - lovely. There's also a great book I'm reading at the moment called "Perfumes - The Guide" by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. They have a series of top tens and an FAQ section. Would be worth a flick through at your local bookshop.0 -

Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations on perfume
I have won £250 to spend at the perfume shop and am writing a list out and not to sure what to go for
I like girly fragrances and perfumes that are not too over powering and am totally lost
Has anyone got any recommendations as I know you are all a knowledgable lot
Any help would be greatly appreciated
CONGRATULATONS! Last Christmas i bought myself a fantastic book called 'Perfumes The Guide' by Luca Turin & Tania Sanchez. It had really good reviews & I have found it a lovely book to browse through & very helpful. If you don't want to buy a copy, perhaps have a quick look in a local book shop & read reviews of a couple of fragrances you're maybe thinking of buying?
Enjoy your winnings!
OOPS-Just read the above post. Great minds think alike!!0 -
yay i finally got the glycolic peel and the line lift vouchers - a bit annoyed with myself for already spending the illuminating powder voucher but hey-ho
soooo has anyone tried the glycolic peel yet? what's it like? the overly clinical box is making me nervous of it...0 -
Just a quick question ... do Boots still have triple points weekends? If anyone knows when the last one was, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks v much
Hi Jenny
I don't think Boots regularly do the triple points events any more
In the run up till Christmas they had a couple of evenings where you got an additional 1000 points for every £50 you spent instore and they did a similar thing online the week before.
If they are going to do one then it's usually round bank holiday times so maybe Easter, though I haven't seen any signs promoting one.
New card holders are sent a double points voucher which is valid for two uses, if you are planning a large puchase then it might be worth asking a member of your family who doesn't have a Boots card to apply for one, though it takes a week or two to arrive.
The other way to get extra points on a big spend is to print out a voucher from the ACM which will give you extra points on your total spend eg: 350 points wys £35 or more, the amounts vary from one person to another. If you visit the ACM in a different nearby store you may find the points offer differs, so you can print out a different voucher eg: 300 points wys £30 or more and , SA willing you could use both vouchers in one transaction as the barcodes are different.
These vouchers are only valid on the day they are printed though so it's worth checking in advance whether the total spend points offers in stores near you vary, so that you can plan your shop in advance.
Generally speaking you can get a few hundred extra points just by making judicious use of the current points offers without spending a lot, the triple points offers are only worth it if you are going to spend a lot of money. For example on a triple points promotion you would get 1200 points on a £100 spend but you could easily get that many bonus points using current promotions and spend much less.
Now you can see why it becomes so addictive :rotfl:

Got the fab 3 from the ACM today- they weren't there earlier in the week !
Tried at the self serve till but it would not take any of the vouchers so SA voided and I went to the tills. Ended up paying 8.80 in total. SA had to override the line lift coupon even before I gave her the others. It said spend not met. Not sure how others have got it all for free but I was happy to pay so little for what I got - I buy the line lift anyway. Would have been well embarrassed to have a negative amount on the till and I am sure they would have voided the lot !0 -

Good advice Nine Tails..
I agree that treating yourself with some classic but perhaps pricey fragrances would be great.
I have a rather mahoosive perfume collection (ooh the shame of it, lol!)
but my absolute fav has to be an all time classic, Miss Dior, the very first fragrance made by Dior.
It is lovely, not girly perhaps, but very classy, fresh, green and stays on for ages, with only the lightest of sprays.
OH bought me some as a treat a while back and I was very impressed indeed
Except he mumbled that it cost quite a lot more than some others he had looked at....Men !! Bless them.:D
I Love Love by Moschino (citrus/ orange..stays on for ages) is nice.
This plus a Moschino handbag would be another winner for me (if OH is looking over my shoulder).
Or Deci Dela by Nina Ricci, very girly but not seen it around for a while.
Right need to stop it now, before I try to think up ways of buying more...
Do tell us what you buy in the end Cheekyd.0 -
Just to say, Meadowhall has lots of the Maxfactor 'Blushed Beauty' GWPS (black mesh bag with white flower in corner) that are scanning as 0.00.
Be careful though, cos they're heavily guarded by SA lol.
HTH xThe Very Happy Owner of a Special Agent Oso Bear and TS3 Pea's in a Pod Beanie
Looking forward to having one very happy little girly on Xmas Day

My recomendation would be to ditch the petri dish and the brush, it just wastes the product and is very messy. I put the 2 squirts on my finger and apply it thinly, you don't need much, then use the wipe to remove it. It leaves your skin very soft, smooth and refreshed. I've not had a bad reaction to it, and I've got quite sensitive skin. hth0 -
Mum2Hannah wrote: »Nice one NT...:T :T Well Done!!! :T :T So not only Mr B gave u the items free but even pd u to take them away lol!!!:p
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Very curious when the SS till gave u change did the SS SA not query it/ was she not aware of what had just happened? Also as all items went free how come the till gave u the £2 voucher? Did the coupons go thru as Boots/Branded coupons or were these taken off the price of the items? TIA
Don't think SAs paid that close attention, probably thought it was change from money I put in.
The till registered
- the peel as costing £9.05 (after 50% off coupon for lucky Londoners);
- line lift 0.00;
- then the £10.50 for the Highlighter came off although it had already gone through as free as part of 342.
- so £9.05 minus £10.50 = -£1.45
Could have something to do with recognising the peel cost but only linking the 10.50 to the highlighter? Pure conjecture. No idea why the £2 pooey came out as receipt clearly shows change to customer.
What is interesting is the box at the bottom which says:
Total savings today £43.25.
Including £13.20 Link-Save and £9.05 Kiosk Save Coupon.
It didn't count the highlighter as a "save."
So if normal price is:
Peel 18.10
Line lift 13.20
Highlighter 10.50
total is 41.80
