Also, when they pay us on the 20th of each month, they are paying you for whole month, so basically a week in advanced. If i am not paid tomorrow, and get called back into work on Monday, can i refuse to go due to non payment, or do i still have to work next week?
I cant even go out and get a new job, as i havent even been made redundant yet!
I full recognise you might be aiming for a redundancy payout but I would strongly suggest that you do EVERYTHING in your power to be searching for new work at this present moment. Clearly the writing is on the wall that things aren't great and even if it comes to a job offer and you have to turn it down should you choose to stay, you have missed out on nothing. If however you choose to wait for the Sword of Damocles to drop before looking for work then you may just miss the boat on an opportunity.
You can be sure your colleagues will be doing the same thing so don't be left as the one who is scrabbling for every hour of work they can get cleaning the warehouse/office out on the last day of trade. Be the one who says, "Well if the brown stuff starts flying, I have something lined up."0 -
Ive worked for apollo for over 3 years. I went into work yesterday worked an hour the kpmg representative informed me we had to close with immediate effect. Im angry there was no warning but the all signs were there for months. I told my collegues that they should prepare themselves for the worse last year!!!! Unfortuantley i was right!! We even had a call the night before from our competitors to say we will go into adminstration the next day. The situation was handle totally unprofessionally we were literally treated like cattle going to slaughter.0

A complete disgrace that sadly seems to be developing into the normal way for a shut down to take place. Just appalling.........:mad:0 -
does anyone know how we go about trying to claim back wages owed. And also because i went part time 6 months ago will my redundancy be based on that??If it is its gonna be a pathetic.0

i worked for these jokers for 6 years up until a year ago. sloppy, underhanded and antiquated is the best way to describe Apollo 2000. I've ranted on another thread here somewhere but any company that excepts customer returns OVER THE PHONE without even seeing what the customer has done to the appliance, and still accepts CASH ON DELIVERY for huge sums of money (my personal record was a plasma tv and home cinema kit which i collected £2370 IN CASH!!!!!
Not that we had any security box or means of getting the money back to the warehouse. When pushed the answer would be PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET, and despite thier best efforts to assure us we were insured for doing this whenever money went missing the individual driver was made to cough up out of his wages.
They constantly sold items on the shop floor as NEW knowing full well they had been take back from a customer as faulty and repaired in the warehouse, and/or the customer decided they didn't want it anymore (sorry if any of you ever bought shop floor goods, chances are it was a ringer)
In 6 years it was only the last 2 years that we actually had a manager in on a sunday 10-4, until then it was up to a SUPERVISOR to manage the shop and deal with complaints. Not that she was paid for this, or even had her contract changed to say she was a supervisor. If anybody really wants to know what Apollo was like, here's my final statement. I worked thier 6 years, i wasnt a model employee, but i worked damn hard during the lean years, i rarely claimed overtime to help the company out a bit; and i even offered to train my replacement (which they declined). On my last day they warned me that if i didnt hand my uniform back in they would stop it out of my last wage packet. Speaks volumes.0 -
Sorry to hear that Berry. It seems to me that the Cranham group were a bunch of cowboys after all.
I knew that you guys were going into administration on Monday night at 5:30pm. I was told by my manager that a deal had fell through to secure a sale for the whole of the 3 businesses within the cranham group, and that Apollo and Arrow would therefore enter administration. Us however ( Apuro ) were able to continue trading for a few more days as we had other interested parties just wanting to buy Apuro.
I went for a meeting today, and was told that a sale of Apuro was looking unlikely to materialise, and that we would all lose our jobs tomorrow. I now have to attend a meeting with KPMG tomorrow morning. God knows what thats all about.
What are they doing about all the Apollo stores? Are you required to go back in and clear it all up?0 -

I dont know, our payday is meant to be tomorrow. But i know that our wages are all done by Apollo 2000, as it says on our wage slip... so we will definatly not be getting paid as there will be no one to authorise a payment!
I think we have to claim of the government now. I think your redundancy may be based on the part time hours, or they might average it out?
Are you not having KPMG in to explain it all?0 -
Any news?..................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Hi Matt - do you work with my sister Angie?Oct GC: £144.07/£2000 -
On the day of us closing down we had a brief 5 minute announcement with kpmg. All they said was that we will receive a pack in the post from them to claim she counldn't tell us anymore because she didn't know anything else!! just received the pack this morning, well it might aswell be written in russian all i care. I haven't a clue about how much holidays is owed to me because my manager never gave a accurate number plus all inthe info is in the store. I used to work for powerhouse and made redundant by them but this wasn't the way they operated.Thay provided help and they organised the monies owed to us. Good luck matt!! I don't miss working for apollo 2000 it was my fellow work mates that i miss they were a second family to me.0
