I dont see how my employer can do this to us!

Morning all,
Redundancies have loomed for a while now at our place. Basically, we are in the process of being either taken over, or going bust.
My salary is due to be paid tomorrow (20th), and i still dont know for definate if i will be paid or not. They cant give an answer. So basically, i dont know if money will be there in my account tomorrow to pay for bills.
We have been given no definitive answer, and i cant see how they can get away with this.
I work for a company that is in the same group as Apollo 2000, but apparantly, we as a company are unaffected.
I am currently on paid leave, as there is no work for me. All i want to know is if i am getting paid, its not hard for them to say a definate answer! This kind of thing bugs me, esp when they can get away with it.
Any advice appreciated!

If the money doesnt appear then you are in a civil debt situation. You then need to ascertain whether or not the company is finished as a going concern and if so,when you might recover unpaid wages and when you will officially be made redundant.0

If you are paid electronically and are expecting it tomorrow it should already be in the banking system. Ring your bank up and see if they can see a payment coming in.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I have just phoned the bank, following annie's advice, and there is no funds been credited as of yet for tomorrow.0

I personally feel the company is finished. Even if we get bought out, we still wont have jobs as the interested parties want to move the company elsewhere.0

Its not Arrow is it?
I heard they went bust yesterdayNot Again0 -
No, i work for Apuro. We are the only ones still trading at the moment out of Arrow and Apollo 2000.0

Arrow delivered white goods mostly to new builds & apollo has struggle for years selling the same to the general public.
Apuro are in a slightly different market but I guess you will find out tomorrow.
KPMG arent going to let something close if it can be sold or rescued. Not Again0 -
I was once told that if you weren't paid on your salary due date and you continued working then it was considered in law to be a change in the terms of your contract which you had accepted.
To be honest I would have thought by now that of they can't say that you will be paid tomorrow then the chances are highly likely that you won't be as I would have thought it would need 3 days to be processed from their bank to yours but I might be wrong on that one.
If you aren't paid and the company is still going then it might literally be a cash flow problem but if the company folds and still owes you salary you can recover this from the government.2014 Target;

Apuro are in a different market yes, as we supply mainly to dealers and not end users.
Apparantly there is a meeting at 11, so i will find out more after then. I have come to the conclusion that i wont be getting paid tomorrow! I think the directors of the Cranham group should be ashamed of themselves.
Didnt give no notice to Apollo staff and Arrow staff, even though i knew at 5:30pm on Monday night that Apollo and Arrow were gone - their own staff were non the wiser until yesterday morning when they turned up for work, only for the stores to be locked up!!!
Then they give us less than a days notice. Its disgusting.0 -
Also, when they pay us on the 20th of each month, they are paying you for whole month, so basically a week in advanced. If i am not paid tomorrow, and get called back into work on Monday, can i refuse to go due to non payment, or do i still have to work next week?
I cant even go out and get a new job, as i havent even been made redundant yet!0
