Negotiate with 02

Last year I spent around £900 for 2 users on contract with 02 - so I bought 2 pay as you go chips (£10). Rang 02 to confirm numbers etc they asked why we wanted to change, I said they 02 were way to expensive to use on contract - they offered to reduce my monthly contract amount by 50% (yes! saving £450) if I stayed on contract with them ...I of course agreed. So do look to negotiate.

Good money saving moment of the morning today :D

I'm with O2 Online (the non in-store deals on their site) - currently on £30/month, 500 texts, 200 mins. Contract up in a couple of weeks.

Orange have started doing the same online only deals - they were offering same tariff as I'm on, but half price (£15) for the first three months, and a free Nokia N70 (I'm a Nokia junky).

Phoned O2 to cancel, got put through to Customer Retention. I said if they'd match Orange I'd stay, and without me even asking they offered instead to better - I'm now getting half price line rental for the entire year. So £15/month for 500 texts and 200 minutes. :D

They couldn't do the N70 free, but did offer a load of others so could have got a good free one. But particularly wanted that so paying £80 for it. However, saving £135 over the year compared to Orange so it still nets out ok.

Just feeling good, and a reminder to all to threaten cancellation at the end of every contract. :)

Also, if you're an MMS fan, O2 are great because MMS are included in your free text allowance (albeit one MMS uses up 4 free texts).
