Andan keep a real good eye on the rocket and spinich - its not so tender as the tomatoes etc and cos its a leaf crop it will romp away and will prob want to escape out of the seed tray just as soon as its got 2-4 real leaves - its notorious for growing inches whilst you watch it.......
great stuff - I am thinking of doing a small balcony challenge at the house here - we do have a big garden - but also a wee balcony space outside my bedroom which is kinda flat balcony size so I migiht see what I can grow in that lovely little space - might be fun ? Be like being back at my OH's were I only had window sills and stairs to grow things on
Glad things are coming up xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

I did:-
1. Took lunch to work
2. Cooked dinner from leftovers out the freezer
3. Walked to station from work0 -
I worked on 48 tins of stuff we use regular like tinned toms, beans, kidney beans etc , 24 tins of stuff we only use once a week like salmon/tuna,Ikg rice a fortnight, 1 kg pasta a week, ikg porridge fortnight, - and few extra for baking, then other stuff I stock up on when it is on offer.
You will actuallly use less than you think - especially if you menu plan;)
Lots of bags of pulses, grains etc really handy to have in too.
Lol at the blackbird
my freezers are really sad - all stacked neatly with lots of silver trays full of batch cooked food. i tink I have food storage OCD

Things are obviously on the up for you Cleosmum, anything is possible!
Well done both ladies on the weightloss front. I'm hoping to find the motivation to tackle my own weight problems before the summer comes, I find it very demoralising but my weight hasn't fluctuated up or down in the last couple of years. I seem to be at my natural weight, but unfortunately that is about a stone and a half heavier than I'd like:rolleyes: . I blame it on T , but he is 3 so I can't really anymore.:o The weight dropped off me after I had B, but I was only 21 when I had her and I did start smoking again which I didn't after T so I may be podgy but at least I don't smoke. ( Although every day I wish I could ...)
Sorry way off topic!
1) Scratch x 10p
2) Went to work
3) Storecupboard dinner
4) Ordered that " How to feed your family on sod all money even if you don't have a kitchen" book from the library.
5) LSD. Had to fork out £2 for lunch. I was going to come home early today as I have holiday hours to use up before the financial year end. But it is the financial year end, so I was too busy.
6) OH was so peturbed at the lack of beer that he went to the supermarket and picked up some bits, saving me money!
Lily81 - can I just say WOW! You must be over the moon. Please remember all us DFWs now you are solvent!0 -
Just been thinking that Pipsmum hasn't been around for a while. I guess Pip is making his presence known!0

Hi All
Well done on the weight loss, debt repayments and other achievements - they all add up.
SM - am well impressed with your stores and cupboards - and so well organised!
Fay - is it worth working out what you'd need over a month and using that as a guide?
I've realised I've got so much in my cupboards/freezer that I never use. I'm going to avoid the supermarket until next pay day to see what I can use up. I'm not very inventive so will have to see what concoctions (sp) I end up with!
See you all tomorrow - have a day off and need to work on my assignment. You must promise to bully me into doing it!

Hiya
right enough no pips mum for a while sending her virtual sleep and hugs
Urg yeah trying to do that - but I keep end up scratching my head - and now I am pathetically as it sounds MONITORING things like loo roll - I put exactly 21 in the loo roll drawer on the 12th March.......I like the way this DFW stuff nutures my OCD side.
SM WOW to getting your food budget for the year in at 800.
I think I will try to stick to my 300 all in when I am away and try not to be too distracted by delights.

OK, I want to post as I have done a lot tonight.
I have
- transferred some money from different accounts
- paid a bill
-taken meter readings
- submitted them online
- wrote a letter to a company, they wanted it in writing when I phoned yesterday
- filed some financial papers
- emailed accountant with a query
- now i have checked online banking, I am aware of how much money I have (or havent got) to spend this weekend, busy weekend planned, but hey, you gotta take the babysitters when they are available, then I dont get a night out for ages.0 -
Just paid a bill ...

Then I tried to log in but typed 'moneysavingexpert' instead of my username. Force of habit!
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
