If all £725000 was put into an NS&I investment bond it would pay out £2,537.50 each month.

By the way, this £2,537.50 is gross interest, so you'll still be liable to pay tax.

At least IFAs can spell commission, obviously not a requirement for anyone in IT (whatever IT stands for - more big words I expect) :D

Once you've learned how to spell commission , have a go at "fee based"

wf is an IFA. The rest of us knew what you meant :).

It's similar to what Martin himself recommends re mortgage brokers, so please don't feel that you've done anything wrong :).

"Spellchecker superiority" is reckoned to be bad form on most bulletin boards, including this one.

    As Martin suggests,

"Be nice to all MoneySavers" :).

"Be nice to all MoneySavers" :).

Exactly , we IfAs are not all registered charities or for that matter commission hungry animals waiting to prey on our next victim.

Im sorry but I found the post slightly offensive, didnt see any winks etc

this is a money saving advice website people. shopping around is the essance! even with IFAs...! When I negotiate a contract with a client I try my best to get as much a possible we all would. Just thought your comments were uncalled for and quite frankly rude. I don't have time! After all WF I was recommending an IFA... and if this person is going into this blind so to speak they need to be warned of the way in whoch other people work. You may be the exception to the rule but all people work to make money and lots if they can... now drop this pettiness and get back to saving money...

and just for you WF - ;)

So you're trying to say that this was advice to shop around?

    Enough said
