  • Hi all

Have been lurking for a few days now and trying to work out if i can actually manage to do this PAD business and am now thinking that i should give it a go. Even if its the odd bit of change into my pot to put towards my CC when the 0% ends.

So if you'll have me i'd like to join the [STRIKE]mad [/STRIKE] sorry, very kind world of the PADers.

And i wanted to say i'm very sorry to hear your sad news Maisie M. My friend has recently been through the same. Hugs to you and your family.

I love the cat lair - I would be scared to spend that kind of money though in case my little b*ggers didn't like it! (See my thread for pictures, they are cuties!) I turned my back for a minute today and Ernie had climbed the chest of drawers and was hiding in my jumper drawer, leaving me an evening of defluffing ahead :rotfl:

Ah, don't you just love 'em! Our cat's new favourite spot is in my airing cupboard....on top of my clean towels! AND he's wrecked the jacket for the hot water tank by using it is a launching pad up to the shelf with the towels on. Now, I always make sure there is something up against the door so he can't get in - usually the airer - but OH and DS can't be relied upon to put it back properly if they go in the cupboard for fresh towels or new toilet rolls!

Maisie - so sorry to hear of your news. Look after yourself and remember we are all here to talk if you need to.

PAD is £9 to council tax arrears me today

Confession time - the weather has been so lovely here that i havent done any work. First went to go and watch the end of tour/home coming parade for the marines here, then OH spent the day at the beach. So havent done any of my dissertation work, but in my defence when we got hom i did do about half of what i was planning on doing. So running about half a day behind schedule with the dissertation, but i can afford to really.

    Hope everyone is well

Well done Gilly you must feel really proud of yourself:T
I think I would benefit with doing meal plans and sorting out store cupboards and freezer etc, just not sure how best to go about it. A month of planning with 6 in the house sems like a mammouth task!
Do you include lunches at the weekends too or just stick to main evening meals?
    Jo x

hi jo! haven't read through all the posts so sorry if i'm saying things that have already been said!

i just meal plan for main meals (tea time), as breakfast is just toast/cereal, and lunches are HM soup/sandwiches/leftovers. i also plan week by week, rather than monthly. i tend to stock up on chicken/mince meat/fish about once a month & freeze it, then my weekly shops are meal based for fresh fruit/veg/milk/bread.

i find that i can only meal plan when i am on my own (i.e. when kids in bed) so that i can have a good rummage through cupboards/fridge/freezer - it works better for me if i plan around what i already have, rather than thinking "this is what i want, what do i need to buy), if you know what i mean.

you'll probably find (if you're anything like us, anyway) that you eat a lot of the same types of meals over a week or month. the challenge is keeping your meals interesting & healthy without having to use loads of different ingredients. good luck! x
