does this upgrade deal look good or not

had phone call from 3 saying that i can upgrade my lg 8130 phone 2 months earlier for the new nokia 6230. first 3 months 1/2 price, i can stay on the same talk plan (500mins 100 text- £30 pm) and will get a further £90 back in month 9 of new contract.

Overall it looks like i will pay just over £18 a month on 12 month contract.

deal or no deal??

Thats not a bad deal (line rental wise) if it is from 3g direct - but the 6230 isn't on 3g so is it the 6630/80 or 6280 that you are referring to?

I would be very carefull about upgrading if they called you as weve heard some other companys are getting the numbers and cold calling, i would give 3 a phone and see what they are offering you direct.

Call up customer services and speak to them - sadly most of the people who say they are calling from 3 are rogue traders looking to scam you. If its from a mobile number then definately bogus.

£18 per month with the 6280 is a fairly decent offer if 3g are indeed offering yuu that direct with them

I doubt very much that it was 3 who phoned you, probably one of their agents . . . . . . . . . . Yeah, Right!

Make double sure that the deal is only for 12 months, as alot of people are agreeing to these upgrades without realising that they are signing up for 18 months!!!

Try ringing back the number they called you from (withold your number or ring from work) and see what they say when they answer

"we atempted to ring you to tell you about a fantastic offer, please hold the line whilst we put you through"
