What I often do with junk mail is to cross out my address, write across the front "Return to Sender", highlight the return address and post it back to them. That way they get to experience the joy of a letterbox full of junk.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0

I've heard of ppl wrapping up phone books and bricks, sticking the prepaid envelope to teh front, and sending it back
might not work, but makes me feel better

I do this too. I found that it was the only thing that worked with NTL. I had cancelled my service but they kept sending me bills for £0.00. After a year of this I started using the pre-paid envelope to return all the docs and the envelope. It stopped after about four months. I do it once in a while now and it's such fun!Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0

Oh I used to do that all the time. Once I had removed my details from them, everything, including the envelopes they came in went back to a different junkmailer. I even used to add any paper waste I had as well. Bus tickets, shopping lists, Radio Times, anything like that all went back.
Now I get very little since signing up with MPS, and anything I do get now goes in the recycling bin.
I still get unaddressed mail despite telling the Post Office I don't want it. Time to have another go at them I think.

Used to do similar but then realised the only thing I was doing was allowing them to waste even more of my time. Time is far too important to be wasted.

Hi Hawks......am registered with the Mailing Preference Service, but still get rubbish direct from The Royal Mail, so thank you everyone, will send their stuff on with the next free envelope. There is an option not to have this junk from the postman but found it delayed my ordinary mail. A postman told me they flag your address in the sorting room, and they dreaded sorting a street where some households had opted out.0

I live in the country, and I think junk mail will be the only reason we continue to get a daily delivery if the Royal Mail continues to cut it's services.
I've also received some excellent unsolicited 0% credit card offers.
For these reasons I won't sign up to the MPS.0
