However transpires I need to bet again as you have to bet with odds over 2.0 to get free bet :mad: Which they failed to mention anywhere at all on the site (well as far as I could see )

Having a look now to get this free bet.....

Not to worry, you only lost 50p or so didn't you?

It's not a bad plan to always look for odds just over 2.0 as many bookies have that in the T&Cs.

I would like to point out I haven't actually bought anything this week (as far as I can remember):D except for some bargains where I just had to pay p&p. :j

I did actually do an online shop as well this week which came to £80:eek: but was £60 after deductions, which is still  but it did include wine and enough food for a couple of weeks and earned me £6 of points.

I have just had an email for a free £50 bet if I place a bet of £50 and it loses, will have to have a think about how to make that work.

Hope you have a fab time tomorrow ShoeGal.:D

That's Betfair is it? You can guarantee about £40 return from it but you need an account with another betting exchange, and about £300 in that account.

Have you got money in your Betfair account already?

Does it have to be another betting exchange or just any bookies? I really can't put £300 in an account yet, have to wait for payday, but I do get the offers from betfair fairly regularly, so I will make sure I sort it out when I get paid to be ready for the next one.

The other plan would be to just put it on something with odds of about 2.0 and cross your fingers. If it wins you get £50, if it loses you get your stake refunded so you haven't lost out.

Or if someone you trust also has a Betfair account, each back opposing outcomes of a 2-way bet and then whoever wins pay half their winnings to the other person.

Yes, I lost 82p on the first bet but it seems with higher odds you lose more???

Or perhaps I'm not doing it right.

I've put on another bet, hopefully which will get me a £25 free bet and I think I found odds of 2.04 or thereabouts. I think I will lose about £1.70 on this one,

Yes as the effect of the Betfair 5% commission is greater at higher odds.

However it depends how close the odds are: e.g. odds of 8 and 8.2 return £23.31, but odds of 1.6 and 1.7 return £23.03.
