I think I just heard the collective sound of a penny dropping across SAID-land. :j We're gonna be single (well, in my case, I hope not, or OH may have some explaining to do) and fabulously/modestly rich.0

I thought of this thread today when I was having a particularly !!!!! moment, feeling fat and horrible so I dug out my red sandals and black cropped trousers and a little hang bag and went shopping!
I got my fantastic shoes from Clarks *drool* and lots of presents for my friend's kids - excellent shopping.
feel much better now.

Evening all, I have NEVER wanted to be an ATC, that film with Billy Bob Thornton, & John Cusack just confirmed it. I like the same kind of job as makeup - lots of chat with lots of people ... shame I work at home on my own really, but does explain why I spend so much time on here.
Nice glass of rose on the go & enough of the MB talk, I want to talk about shoes & more specifically how many pairs I should take with me. DD reckons I have too many but I think I'm on rations :
2 pairs of heels ( one red of course) one pair gladiator type, 1 pair smartish flats, 3 pairs leather flip flop sandal type , 1 pair rubber flipflop to get trashed on the beach & one pair rocket dogs for any walking that has to be endured.
I'm struggling with bags too, have narrowed it down to 3 but could really do with another ... hmmm duty free
Cant go to bed as it's covered with stuff but so far in my case only have the book for aunt that got delivered here & the jar of pickling spice that she asked me to take out :rotfl:
Do I take largish flight bag with spare set clothes & essentials in case of separation from main luggage or just go for ultra glam minimalism with red bag( my preferred option)
I am so rubbish at decisions hence a good job not an ATC or anything with serious responsibility :rolleyes:0 -
Ok is there anyone on this thread who hasn't wanted to be an air traffic controller? :rotfl:
Yeah I work in Cardiff in a technical capacity for a large publically-funded broadcasting corporation - nothing glamorous..! Used to work for them in London, and before that Bristol. Hope to not be working for them at some point soon
To be honest I've gone through many a job and had many 'amazing' ideas about jobs that i could do:
I think fashion designer, forensic scientist (this was all before CSI as well!) and doctor were also things I considered before the age of 18!!
So no move to Salford on the cards for you?? I know a lot of London based folks at a large publically funded broadcasting agent are in the process of losing work and facing a potential move north.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -

OK, I'm a packing expert. Having got it wrong sooo many times!
Who are you flying with? If it is someone with a very low baggage allowance, if so you're gonna need option 1 as 15kg is carp.
If not, then I'd go with option 2. I've done the massive hand luggage option before and it just isn't needed for short haul.
I this is considered heresy on this board but can I suggest you may have too many pairs of shoes?????
Are you going for a week or a fortnight? Personally I would drop the smartish flats and one or two pairs of the leather flip flop sandals.
That leaves you with heels for night-time glamour or glad's or leather flip flops for night time casual.
Then flip flops for beach, leather sandals and glad's for daytime casual and rocket dogs for sightseeing???I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Yay Buffy, sounds like you had a fab day.
What shoes did you buy??
I went to Tesco and got in an argument with the boy on checkout. He wouldn't sell me Love Hearts....I mean - !!!!!! So I had a minor strop and then paid for the rest of my stuff. He didn't say anything so I stood there waiting for him to say 'thank you' Finally he said it and I said thank you too and then went to Customer Services to get my green clubcard points and to complain. She gave me some nonsense about how it all works...:mad:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
