I have the book and DVD of The Secret, the DVD is a bit over the top but is quite easy to follow and motivating if you are in the right frame of mind, the book is much better and used to be one of my favourites, in fact I might reread it now you have reminded me.

Never heard of it  Off to Google :D

Another Monday feeling person here. Didn't do any decluttering at all but I have realised from the mess I have created so far that I really can't avoid having to buy some proper bookcases, I was trying not to because I don't really want to buy anything for my room which is not easily transportable for when I move out. I will just get the cheapest ones I can find but I really resent the extra expense. icon8.gif I hate being poor and singleicon8.gif

hi ziggles - love that name, makes me smile each time I read it :D

funny you should be talking about cross trainers; my big pink ball has finally deflated & I shall not be repalcing it - too big & annoying so I was looking at exercise equipment & think i may have found a little stepper thing that i might actually use ... but is also small enough to hide under the bed & forget about if I dont :rotfl:. Isnt it funny though how I can easily find ahem ahem ahem pounds to buy new shoes, bags & rugs , but suddenly come over all money saving when faced with a fifty pound piece of exercise equipment

My pc is driving me mad tonight - its so slow & I cant remember for the life of me how to do that defragging thing ... anyone care to remind me please :o

    Hi!

Thanks for all the book suggestions and that is such a good idea about visiting the library, makeup. I can get on with my self helping whilst also saving money.

A bit better day today. I'm going to post my baby steps and try and feel good about things:

    1. Worked hard.

    2. Found a petrol station with unleaded at 99.9 so put some in (on CC :o).

    3. Got some groceries in (again, on CC ), mostly on offer though. Got 3 meals for a fiver from M&S, which are handy for when I work late and also 6 sausages AND 4 burgers from M&S for 1.50 :D Can make meals around these.

    4. Returned stuff to Oasis. Lots of stuff. Money going back on CC.

    5. Found receipt for jeans bought from M&S - to return tomorrow, more money to go back on CC.

    6. Found some receipts where I hadn't used my Clubcard. Went to customer services and got them put on.

    7. Called up Scottish Power about my 112 pound direct debit :eek: It is correct - argh!! It goes some way to explaining the lack of money in my account though. Have resolved to turn stuff off more and REALLY watch my energy usage. However, I was using a fan heater when I ran all this up because my boiler wasn't working, so I'm now thinking of the 70 quid I paid to get it fixed as an investment.

    8. Did a good deed for the day. As I was going down the escalator in M&S, I saw a girl quite a way in front of me lose something. I couldn't see what it was as I was a fair way behind her. I got off and found the item. It was a gorgeous Tiffany pendant. I ran after her, most of the way round the ground floor and gave it her back. Bless her, she was really grateful. Her boyfriend looked really pleased too, I guess it might have been a gift from him. Anyway, that was nice. The pendant really was beautiful though. I just thought I'd emphasise that, in case the guy who's planning to 'whisk me' is reading and is maybe stuck for gift ideas...

    Naughty things:

    1. Spent about a fiver on lunch stuff from M&S.

    2. Bought two coffee's at work.

Hope everybody else is doing well.

    Gwenx
