Good luck to Ziggles and Hollyberry for the free listing ebay day (and anyone else who is flogging their quality merchandise!) I have only got in from work which is my excuse!
Just one more day before the weekend :j
I'm going on a weekend away. I've had membership with YHA for ages but not used it so a few weeks ago booked up one night at Sheringham YHA (North Norfolk coast) apparently is very nice Victorian town and has lovely lovely beaches. I'm hoping for good weather.
I thought I had a fab deal on the train tickets but just checked and I think I've got tickets for completely the wrong day aargh!!!:eek:
Must dash and check this out..........
Sorry you've had the hassle with the tickets, but I hope you enjoy the weekend. I thought Sheringham was lovely; we really liked most of North Norfolk. We had a week at Cley-next-the-Sea a couple of years ago in a rather grotty cottage; in fact, I think Cley was the only place we went to that we weren't too keen on. It has a very expensive deli, and used to have a gourmet vegetarian restaurant which we went to for one of those taster menus. It was lovely, but the hushed and reverential atmosphere kept making us want to giggle, especially as we were surrounded by very dedicated foodies. When an extra spoon came out for the main course we started having real problems keeping the giggles in check (Me: It's gone wrong. OH: I'm not paying this price for something I can use a straw on.
) Hope you manage to find one of the lovely seafood shacks while you're there.
Sadly I didn't manage to join the eBay free party yesterday. Turbolister and eBay were refusing to talk to one another ("category is not recognised" "it's a dress, Turbolister, you fool, what do you not understand about that?"). So I will have another go on Sunday, remembering hopefully to change them from 10 day to 7 day listings.  Ah well...
etsy.com is absolutely gorgeous - love it.I bought some beautiful prints from Vermont for my mum's birthday, and have also had some solid perfume from Louisiana. There seem to be more UK sellers on there now, although I haven't found the US postage charges too bad at all. Definitely recommended for treat time.
Commiserations to all the hay fever sufferers. Hope you are managing ok, and not being forced to spend too much time online. :A
Off now to move my redundancy money out of my bank account and into savings before I decide that I can have a little spend or two. And particularly before the somewhat over-enthusiastic local bank manager rings me to say that I have too much money in there, it's not safe, do I have plans for the money? yada, yada, yada... Like living expenses until I can get a job... I'm really not complaining; I know I'm really lucky to have it.0 -
Grrrr, hayfever is killing me and I am too hot. Am having a sneezing fit every 5 minutes. My sinuses are so blocked and sore I can't speak properly:mad: I am definitely having an early night tonight, am exhuasted. I stopped on the way home and got a Starbucks which I have banned myself from but I am poorly so I don't care and I had to do something to make myself feel better (courtesy of Lula's Karmic Law:D).
Today:- coins in piggy

Your poor thing, sounds horrible.
I know what you mean about the heat. It is really 'heavy' and muggy today. I slept really badly last night, cos of the heat.
Maybe if we get some rain it'll clear things and make it better for you???
And a restoratative Starbucks is definitely in order. All bets are off when you are ill in my book!!
Had a reasonable day at work.
I've been to library this eve for books for my weekend trip away, come back with 6 which I think is a bit much for 2 days, even for me and even considering all the train journeys I have to make!
Who else has weekend plans???I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
A beautiful sunny morning to all you fabby ones
& huge sympathy to hayfever sufferers, although I have to confess that I would probably reject any potential partners who suffer. That sounds awful
but xbf was a sufferer & it was difficult. He didnt want to be outside from about april to september & would go around closing all the windows whereas I like my fresh air & what's more it meant he would never cut the grass:rolleyes:.
TDQ - I'm loving those funky boots & hope you have them in both colours as per Sarahs Purchasing Law
I'm in a little bubble of happiness today, my surprise treat from my awesomely fab sis was .... The Killers at Hyde Park:j:dance:. I did suspect it was Hyde Park but had made a very determined effort not to find out about any line ups
.
They were brilliant, it was a lovely balmy evening, the crowd was really enthusiastic & happy but no agression & I only got showered with beer twice :rotfl:.. Brandon was looking lush :heartpuls & they all seemed to be really enjoying themselves too which makes for a great gig
I need to do more of this kind of stuff - it makes me happy
I'm going to join plentyoffish but only to seek new men friends at the moment. It's a social life that's lacking & making me discontented, not the lack of a relationship. Looking back over my life so far I realise that I was at my happiest when I had a group of friends to spend time with rather than when in relationships, & over the years this group has dwindled as people move, settle down or just drift apart. I really suck at finding decent partners anyway so not going to bother. Need to get some pics done so prob best I go & wash the beer out of my hair :rotfl:
Big happy hugs to all

Add me to the list of the green with envy for The Killers. What a brilliant idea!
We spent last night reliving our misspent youth watching Glastonbury. I think I have now passed through that part of the advancing years when you go off festivals because of the loos and mud, and I am now at the stage when I no longer care. There was one sobering moment when I pointed out the slightly more mature audience members during The Specials, and OH pointed out that they were probably about 10 when we were seeing The Specials first time round.
There's nothing much planned this weekend except work. I am clearing out the recycling from the study, and getting listings ready for eBay, broken up by some recreational forays online, when I am attempting not to spend. The treats budget for the month has been spent, so there will be no more, unless I break into the final £30.60 of my birthday money (not bad, considering birthday was December).
Happy weekends to you all. :A0 -
Hi everybody!
Blimey. I've been quite busy. My boiler is fixed. I'm a bit worried about the bill, but it is fixed, so it's over with and when I'm chilly I cannot use the electric heater that eats electricity anymore. I'm hoping to really drive my energy bills down now aswell.
Had to get 2 new tyres for the car. 123 pounds - aarrrghhh! And the other 2 will need doing in the next couple of months. Bl00dy hell. I have money in my 'Car' account for the first set, but don't think it will cover the second aswell. Not a lot I can do about it though, I can't drive around with bald tyres. I'm going to have to come up with a plan.
I called Brabantia yesterday about my rusty kitchen bin and they are sending me a new one!! I just had to email them a couple of pics and my details and it's on it's way. V.impressed with them. All my future bins will be Brabantia.
I found out the Wimbledon tickets are literally right next to the court!! I am sooo excited. We're going to be there for the Men's final and I'm going to be right next to the players!!
I finally wrote my letter to M&S, so hopefully I should hear from them soon and now I'm off to order a new mobile (and get 90 pounds cashback ;-)) and perhaps swap my broadband to O2 (and get 70 pounds cashback). Still waiting for the rest of my cashback to be 'received' by Quidco though and Halifax still haven't sent me my cashback - grrrr.
Anyway, I'd better go, I'll be back on later.
Lula - I am sooo jealous. I'd love to see The Killers live and Brandon is lush!
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -

Yikes, I hope you are in a minority one with that!:D I think xbf may have been a bit of a whinger, I have my windows open all the time, even winter, I love fresh air and can't bear stuffy rooms. I generally have it for a couple of weeks a year and for the last few years have hardly suffered at all. I think there must be an extra high pollen count at the moment. I would draw the line at cutting the grass though.:DTDQ - I'm loving those funky boots & hope you have them in both colours as per Sarahs Purchasing Law
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It does mean you avoid the constant nagging thought in the back of your head that you should have bought the other colour:DI need to do more of this kind of stuff - it makes me happy
