Hello Gwen, here is a link to the scratchcard thread on the gambling forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1487085 hope this helps. I'm doing takeabreakbingo, you put a tenner in, do a card and win even ten pence then you can withdraw the money and as long as there is 10p or more in your account you can do the card each day and withdraw when you get to a tenner.

Hi all, not been on here for aaaaages! But still working hard on my debts :)

Still single, but other than needing someone to help with the bills I am happy enough with that :D plus I seem to have turned into the most fussy person in the world and haven't met anyone in ages who actually interests me in that way!!

    Hope you're all doing ok.

I have been a bit spendy this weekend. I ended up in a shopping centre (accompanying OH to work to give him some company on a four hour round trip drive), so I have spent some of my birthday money on a dress and some cheap crops (£12 so bargainous ;)). Strangely some very reduced chocolate also fell into my bag at the tiny sum of £1.25 per bar (from £4.99), so I now get to try organic coffee and walnut and spotted !!!!!! chocolate (yes, you did read that correctly). bigsmile.gif I then have until 12 July to remove both bars from my hips before I go on my hols.

I am still within budget, so not beating myself up too much. It will need to be a cheap week though... there's only the cash in my purse until 1 May.

I'm also getting ready to try the matched betting, having digested a lot of the info on here. I've set up another bank account (via Quidco), so just need to take a deep breath, hold my nose and jump in.

Gwen - sounds like a good date. From a very long time ago (and well before Mr HB) I can recommend climbers... goodluck.gif

Time to go and see what can be ferreted out of the cupboards etc for dinner. See you later.

Hi all, back to report on the dieting and debt busting front:D

Re debts I have checked quidco (they keep moving the dates they are going to pay out icon8.gif) checked pigsback, had store cupboard meals, used a 30p voucher when shopping, put coins in the piggy, done some moving around of money on online banking, not used car and done some washing at 30 and line dried it.

I did a small shop, couldn't get everything I wanted as is a tiny supermarket and a bit expensive but the only one open on a Sunday evening, got some bogofs and some reduced items and used a voucher, spent £15.06 and I hope everything will last until next week as I am trying to only do one shop per week, but might need to top up by £5 ish as I need some fish and meat. I might try to manage a week without though and rely on what I have. I certainly won't starve if I do that anyway:D

Re food I have had: lots of decaf coffee, fruit teas, chicken salad, 2 youghurts and a banana. I have weighed myself and not lost anything again, but that may well be due to lolling around the house fretting and eating chocolate.

Hello all, I really need to get back on here regularly! I'm currently living on $125 a week so I can save $3000 for a trip back to the UK in June and I'm fairly sure I'm failing :(

I have stacks and stacks of expenses claims waiting, maybe up to $700-900 worth but as I can't access the company expense forms the reciepts are just sitting there... it's so frustrating! I swear I've lost a few too :(

Over here they charge you for using ALL cash machines and not only does the bank operating the ATM charge you, but your bank adds an extra charge too! This means I don't take cash out except for when it's really needed but I also don't look at my account balance either... bad Rob!

    Hi TDQ, welcome back:j

Drop everything and find a way to access the expense claims at once! They are earning interest on your money icon8.gif What a cheek, they are probably hoping you lose a few along the way.

I'm not sure if the ATM charging is actually a bad thing, I know it would make me thing twice about going to the machine for £10 or £20 for silly reasons.

Good luck with saving for the trip home:j

    Hi All,

Hope the no spending is going well. I spent £12 today on food for the week.

Apart from that it's been quite boring today.
