Some of the staff are apparently not very clued up!
My advice, having learnt from experience is that if you open this account, credit it with at least the minimum amount immediately.
I opened the guarenteed saver in Nov/Dec and was assured over the telephone that I would have 14 days to credit the account with the minimum amount and would still receive the 6% interest rate. Before i transferred the money, I ran Halifax to confirm that the rate would be 6% and was told that the rate had been reduced to 3%. I told them I had been informed otherwise, but to no avail... I did not open the account, as i had been cheated out of a few hundred pound!0 -
