New contract with BT - But i cant get written confirmation ??

BT retention team have offered me a new contract for Phone Line & Internet connection, but following issues with my current plan & getting the bill right along with discrpencies of when the current contracty ends ... i really want BT to confirm nin writing a breakdown of costs & contract end date. I dont mind if this comes by post or email. Unfortunately no-one at BT seems to be prepared to so this & just keeps quoting reference number (how do i know whats logged against this reference number is correct 
).
