Rust Removal!
HELP! This morning while brushing the snow off my MGF I noticed a small patch of rust (no bigger than a few mm) in the crease at the top of the boot. It wasnt there yesterday so Im guessing it just a tiny part and the rain/snow has spread the colour.
anyway, is there anyway of getting rid of it, without having it rubbed down and resprayed? I need to act on it quick before it spreads though.
Cheers, Shane

Hiya,
We have a board dedicated to motoring and I'm sure you'll get plenty of help there so I shall move this post across for you.
Good luck.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. hi shane,
here's a quick 'how to....' to help you with sorting out the rust. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HalfordsProductRedirectionURL?storeId=10001&REDIRECT_URL=/263.asp
but, bare in ming, this tends to be for large dents or scratches. as your saying that the rust is only a few mm, what id say is go down to your local halfords, and get some rust treatment called 'KURUST' (small treatment willl cost around £2), this is a treatment that you would put on the rust to stop it from spreading furthur. but, only put this on once you've lightly sanded down the rust to smoothen any sharp or rough edges.
after you've applied the kurust, get some touch-up paint for your car from halfords which costs around £7, but you need to know your colour code for your car which will be either written under your bonnet on the vin plate in the bottom left corner or on your door pillers.
hopw this helps,
Skiddy0
