Hey, little_h! How are you?
If you go to Amatheya's blog (click on her name on one of her posts, then click on "Go to Amatheya81's homepage", which will take you to her website, then click on "Blog" on the left-hand side) and scroll down, you will see the harpist painting."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Oops, sorry for butting in Amatheya! I got interrupted while typing and didn't realise that you had posted in the meantime. Hope you are feeling better now."Green pastures are before me,

ah! I only looked in the gallery!

how beautiful! I read your comments about skin tone, I can't imagine where to start with this and think you have done a great job. As you say, she looks very cherubic
the decorations on the harp are a lovely touch too - many harpists get this done on a new harp and it's always great to see how people choose to personalise their instrumentsmy friend Immy has a tiny little gold bunny painted on her harp, playing in the leaves, I love it as you have to know it's there! my harp is very plain but if I still have him when he needs a new soundboard, I may get something done.
just in case you are interested to see some more examples there are some here.

Hi Little H,
Thanks for the links, those harps are lovelyI wasn't aware that harp players got their harps personalised like that. I'm glad I made the pattern up instead of copying a existing harp. How long have you been playing? I've always fancied a go myself but I imagine it's very difficult.
I'm feeling much better now thanks and have my fingers crossed that nothing else happend... about five minutes after I crossed my fingers I fell out the bath while cleaning it and now have a very hurty elbow... I'm starting to think I'm jinxed!!!

So I've been registered on this forum forever and only ever made a few posts, but we just moved and the rent is more expensive so in an effort to be a bit more frugal I shall attempt to ingratiate myself into the community (if you'll have me)
Glad to see there are other self-employed types around, I'm a freelance web developer which is going ok, mostly do work for one-man-band type businesses that are fairly low budget but really fun to do. While I'm not personally in debt, my fiance is so it really adds another level of stress to the pressure we all feel to make our businesses a success...eek.
I also just launched a blog to help people who can't afford a pro with setting up their own website, we shall see if that ends up earning anything, I've never tried earning from blogging before but you never know!
My main issue with working at home, money-wise, is the sheer amount of snacking I do! Does anyone else find that the proximity of the fridge (and nobody there to yell at you) leads down a bad, bad road...or am I just really greedy for Alpen snack bars?
Anyway yes, hello and you'll probably see me kicking about a fair bit on the forum from now on0 -
Hi gang and new peeps too numerous to mention (sorry I am being lazy).
I have been in work today and will be again tomorrow and then I am off to Leeds. UPS tried to deliver my new business cards on Friday but I was at work so I had to call them to ask them to deliver to work - the delivery was scheduled for tomorrow...a lovely man called Tony called me this evening from UPS to ask if I was in..needless to say I was, and he came round on his way to Barnt Green because he was running a bit late and thought that I should perhaps have my parcel today:j He was soo nice and I nearly kissed him because he made my day - fancy a delivery driver using his initiative..something that is a rarity around here.
I must admit that I rarely snack when I work at home - partly because I refuse to have stuff in the house that I can snack on other than fruit which is healthier. In fact my fridge is almost bare..was going to treat myself to chippy chips tonight but have just remembered I have some spuds so could bung one in the remoska and have it with cheese and ham:cool: I am fairly strict with myself at home and have tea breaks at set times and try and have lunch to coincide with Home & Away & Neighbours (this used to be 13.15-14.45 but Channel 5 have changed the timings to accommodate Vanessa flipping feltz). Anyway I must save some money this week as I shall need money for cabs and meals out on two nights (oh the joy of going away on business:cool:). I do have one success...I have blagged my way onto a free lunch on Thursday:cool:
Remember those nomination forms that I kept procrastinating about? Well, I did them at work today, my boss gave me permission to use his computers, printers and paper anyway - he is the chairman of the business club that we are both members of. I also taught myself to use the new sooper dooper Word 2010.
Need to pack my stuff tonight (have already made a start) because I don't want to be rushing around on Wednesday morning - I have even managed to get some help at the station too because I cannot cope with carrying suitcases on stairs.
Much work to be done - need to make calls, get emails and set up databases to market the two networking events that I am organising. Sheesh, I feel as though I have bitten off more than I can chew.:eek:0 -
You have been busy Horance... and it sounds like you're going to be a lot busier over the next few days.
So, I've actually done something for once. I've started layed doen the first layer of paint on my new Geisha watercolour. I should be finished by the end of the week. I've still got an endless list of things that I need to do but on the bright side I haven't been ill or imjured all day!! lol0 -
I'll look forward to seeing your new watercolour, Amatheya81.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Welcome!
Would it be rude to ask if you could please PM me your blog address? PLease don't feel if you have to if you'd rather not!
I know what you mean about snacking - or tea-making in my case! What I save in petrol costs, I more than make up for in tea. Mr PBR came home the other day and totalled up that I must had had 23 cups of tea during the working day!
Best of luck with your venture!Overpay!0
