Well, my son is still off school sick. Luckily for me (but not for him) my hubby is also off work sick so i've managed to keep on working.

In answer to the question - yes, I sent out letters to past clients. They will bring in lots of business (bit of positive thinking there!!).

Wordsmith - glad you've taken on the challenge...you know you'll thank me for it (one day!).

Nelski - your business sounds really interesting. I've done 3 weekend courses in NLP particularly aimed at holistic therapy. It's fasinating and I find I use it a lot with my children.

I've only been a part of this site for a week and already my accounts are up to date, my paperwork is all filed and i've done some targetted advertising. My plans next week are to get a plan together for the final assignment I need to do to finish a hospice care diploma. I've done all the practical days and just need to finish the course work now.

Hope you've all had a productive day xx

Hi Everyone, love the thread, I am part time employed from home and part time self employed from home but the employed part is looking very insecure as the company are looking at making people redundant in the near future and I think my role could be high on the list to go.
I don't think I could bear to go back to a normal 9-5 and anyway I have two dogs so need to try and have a contingency plan of upping my self employed work. All only in my head so far, not worked out how I'm going to do it.
Anyway already picked up some useful tips from reading through the thread and will try and buckle down to putting some ideas on paper.
    Bye for now.

Hi, I have a bespoke furniture business and have recently become interested in "the laws of attraction", soooo I try to think positive as much as possible, (but why is it so bloddy hard when the bills keep rolling in and the customers dont!!)
I have already been through 1 bad reccession and survived, I am just too stubborn (or stupid ) to give up! Somebody asked me today if I was just being a "busy fool",(cheek) what are we supposed to do, just roll over and quit!! I will keep going till they drag me away kicking and screaming, (I am also giving up smoking so that may happen sooner than later!)
People keep saying "theres no money out there"..course there is, just nobody wants to spend it at the moment!!!!!!
  • Horace - didnt know that you were in the B'ham area... me 2. Maybe we can put some business eachothers way... you know, saving for a wedding (go and see someone about finances etc) or if they are about to buy their first home after the wedding. And i can do the same, i get to speak to clients a lot about their lives and have done remortgages in the past so that people can pay for their dream wedding. So i could put buz your way. LOL.. networking its a great thing lol.
PM me if ya fancy chatting about it a bit more.
