maybe, but u have to take into account cost of electric, cost of paper, cost of ink, wear and tear on the printer and the extra time it takes you to do so. If I was to charge a client for printing I would probably say 25p a page. If you use a personal printer rather than a business one for printing you are allowed to claim 6p per page as costs for tax reasons.

    Afternoon all

After the disastrous day yesterday with software - I have managed to re-install an old version of Kaspersky version 7 and with lots of updates got it up to date and telling me that it expires in 9 days. After a chat with ex hubby, he told me to just put in the activation code for the version I bought yesterday and voila it works:j

I have since spoken to Green Works other office in Wolverhampton and I have emailed them with my wish list so hopefully I will be able to get some cheap recycled furniture (all I want is a filing cabinet and swivel chair. Popped to Rubery to go to the bank, the chemist and the butchers and then dived into two charity shops - bought a book in one and some posh cards and a pair of candlesticks in the other. Now I have been eyeing up a lovely dining room table with 4 chairs - it is utility furniture and the table has extension leaves that come out, do I buy it or not? I think it was about £30, I could pass it on to my ex hubby for him to use and I can get my mahogany gateleg table from him (the table has been in my family for about 100 years).

I made a saving on the cards too as the shop were selling them all for 89p each and I know that in 'normal' shops they are sold for £2.40 each:eek: I also got £1.95 knocked off the candlesticks too:cool:

I have also contacted The Village which is a local magazine for Barnt Green (posh area where millionaires live) as they are holding a wedding fair on 27 September so we have been negotiating the price of a table.

Oh and I had a call this morning from a new magazine called Asian Fusion which apparently is going to be sold in the UK, Dubai and India asking me to advertise - I got their fee for a quarter page ad down from £180 + VAT to £100 + VAT but told them I wanted to see the magazine first. I also said that I don't organise Asian weddings because I don't know anything about their culture - they are going to send me a copy of the magazine when it has been printed so that I can see whether or not it is for me.

Doing a charity carwash on Saturday too - my dear friend is trying her hand at matchmaking again:rolleyes:

Thank you. I rang my local copy shop and they quoted me 5p a page for printing the equivalent. The paper I used was cheap - £10 for five reams. No idea of ink price as the printer with ink already in it was given to me by a friend!

Horace - you're such an inspiration the way you do so much!!! I'd go for the table if the one with your ex has sentimental value.

I've had to cancel today's client as i've put my back out. I've got two days to get it sorted....it WILL get better!!!

Apart from that i've really got to get my assignments written. I'm chunking down so it doesn't look so scary and aiming for 200 words a day. This usually means I do extra - yesterday I did just over a thousand. I'm going to post on here how much I do to make me do it!! If I don't then feel free to shout at me!

Speak to you all later when i've done some essay writing!!!

Mudbath - I do so much because I live my life at a zillion miles per hour, I have always been the same and cannot sit still for 5 minutes:rolleyes:

Hope your back gets better soon and good luck with your assignment.

    Hi Moonflower

I have been looking on freecycle for 9 months now and nothing has come up. I will be able to get a 4 drawer cabinet from GreenWorks for £40 and a chair for about £20. The filing cabinet needs to be foolscap sized so that can use my freecycle twinlock crystal files in it then I can move all my stuff off the floor. The new chair is to save my back because I am using an old dining chair at the mo.

Am trying to pluck up courage to ring my web designers to find out how much they will charge for a full website revamp or if they will charge me to move my site to a new host. At the moment I cannot change the pages myself but the printers who do my business cards can do my website for about £300+VAT with free hosting for 12 months and thereafter they will charge me £99+VAT per annum to host and the site will have the added benefit of me being able to change it whenever I want:cool::j

I am also worried about HB and am playing a waiting game with the council - the same goes for my CTB as they have sent a huge bill which I will have to start paying in July which is about £44 a month - this seems to be an enormous amount when I am living on reduced means (£50.35 a week). So despite me racing along at a zillion miles an hour I still have everyday stresses to contend with.

Hi All, I have been having a few daysof nothing to do....I am waitingon a new list of articles for the month and once they arrive i will once again be busy. Trying to make the most of the time but finding myself just surfing the net and relaxing. Why not?
Got a really busy month ahead family wise tho. 3 Birthdays, fathers day (this is the same day as the race for life in my town.....why???how can I make hubbie breakfast in bed, run 5k, go home make special dinner for hubbie and his dad and his wife all in one day??)
Right now I have to go and treat the kids for headlice.....I am really sick of doing this. They have had headlice off and on for close on 6 months. I think I have finally gotten rid of them and somehow two weeks later they are back! Tried everything. Right now we are combing their hair through with conditioner or lotion twice a week, but all it takes is missing one and it goes and lays eggs and you start all over again. And then I start itching!! Eeeek. My husband tells me that I am so good at doing it that it should be my responsibility Hmmmm....
  • Morning all

DH has got 3 weeks left at work (the subcontract work) so its seems scarey at the minute. Have got to get organised in the next few days and sort out an advert for the local village news/parish magazines etc and find some more notice boards to stick leaflets on. Have to go leaflet dropping again but its hard work with a 3 month old

Have also searched for free advertising and updated a few sites..... the probs is theres just so much competition around here. I think alot of people have been laid off so have set up on their own - very annoying!

Right waffle over, hope everyone else is ok

Hi everyone - doing v little today but still a few pounds ringing through the till. I have my accounts up to date and thanks to another "lightbulb" moment on here I know exactly the financial position of my business - not as bad as I thought because I have worked my backside off to make the place work and tried to keep my stock at a managable level.

On a lighter note.... holidays.... I would love to go for a bit of sunshine but the dilema is getting somewhere that a. won't cost a fortune and b. can fit in with the time we have DS from OH's first marriage. My mum lives in the south of Spain but the OH doesn't want to go there this year again as he was bored there last year. To be honest, looking at prices, I could get out to mum's cheaply but v expensive to come home! Trying to tell me something! Any ideas? So far anything I've priced is around £1500 for the 3 of us which I could not justify.
