If it is actually crazy paving, then it should already be in fairly small sized chunks. These are easily moved with a pickaxe under the edge. If it is in much larger pieces or even poured concrete it can still be broken up with the use of a sledge hammer. Then try to lever underneath so as to be able to lift it very slightly. Then a sledge hammer will break it fairly easily. It is quite difficult to smash if it is in close contact with the ground, as this tends to absorb the energy of the hammer. A large cold chisel in the cracks is quite a help as well. I agree with ic, it is very satisfying, if a bit tiring.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I've pretty much broken it all up today, with a 36" crowbar and a sledgehammer.
The paving was old slabs, so thicker than modern ones, but the mortar was crumbly, with about 3" of concrete stuff underneath. The worst bit was digging up the tree roots that had grown between the cracks.

Now I'd better see about skip hire!

Many thanks to all for advice.

    Sorry I couldn't resist:-
